Yeah, what happened to the release date?

Well, at least it's finally happening. I restrained myself from watching Ultimate until it was all done.

It seems the wait will be over soon!

AAAAURGH! This is so frustrating! It's not fair! Japan has been getting every volume of Hellsing Ultimate for the past several years. (And from what I understand it's not even that popular there.) While we American fans are still waiting! Heck, it even seems most American otaku have forgotten it even exists!

I WANT MY HELLSING ULTIMATE AND I WANT IT NOW! *bangs fists*

Pleasure clearly. Every episode was epic, and pretty much better than 90% of most anime that came out in that time period lol. So sad that something as great as Hellsing ultimate is ending, but great things end, hopefully with a major bang though.

Has anyone watched Hellsing the Dawn?

Lol, but their clearly not American Otaku if they have forgotten that Hellsing Ultimate has still been coming out. There is only so much ecchi/school/harem/romance nonsense anime's you can watch before you get hentai freeze lol.

Geneon/Universal Japan merger
All titles stuck in red tape until recently
Funi not at fault for this.

At this point we should just sticky all that, I swear to god...

This. The problem was NOT on Funi's end. Besides they're already moving along with the series again...

It looks like Funimation is releasing Hellsing Ultimate's first 4 OVA episodes on Blu-Ray literally two weeks (plus a day) before this upcoming Halloween. I assume BDs are in the not-so-far-off future for the rest of the OVA series from Funimation.

I recently got done reading the entire manga, with volumes 1-8 & 10 borrowed from the local library and the rest read in boringly translated scans (I have no idea how that series could have gone without a Parental Discretion Advised warning... just 'cause the lack of exposed bewbs, probably.) It was, uh, interesting, kinda-cool-I-guess, pretty fracking insane.... but I don't think I liked it enough to invest much (if any) money in an anime that really is a 1-for-1 adaptation of the manga, all the way to its (semi-convoluted, wtf) final volumes*. Definitely interested in at least seeing the animation and hearing all the accents, though.

*spoiler[Jeeze, Hirano, why the hell did you have to that with the Walter character!? He was plenty awesome before that betrayal of his, which I sincerely doubt you planned particularly far ahead of time... ]

Right. I'm really hoping that the reason Funimation hasn't done anything with the later volumes is that they were waiting for it to finish so they could get the voice actors back one time and not have to keep tracking them down. I've been holding off on reading the manga because I want to see these OVA's first, so it has been rather frustrating that there has been no real word from Funimation on this.
