You mean, manga in general isn't weird and exaggerated? |
Well, his stuff seems weirder

His work is actually really heavily influenced by Tatsuya Egawa, who has a very idiosyncratic style and is also very popular abroad, but Smith definitely has his own feel.
I think another reason he was published in Japan is because his work is just so technically accomplished. His draftsmanship and narrative abilities are really top notch. I hope he finds the success he deserves in Japan. The man's a real inspiration, following his dreams and making them come true.

Hmmm? Everyone's got an audience somewhere.I wish him well.
As for the flipping off part,it doesn't mean the same thing as giving someone the bird in the US.Think of it more like a challenge.

Last thing I heard of Felipe Smith is that he was publishing in Japan, that his manga name was Peepo Choo, and that was all. So I'm glad to hear he is well and still working. And finally to know what the comic was about... Is even more insane that what I imagined which now means... now I want to read it even more than yesterday
I hope everything turns ok to him, and that japanese schedules don't kill him.

good point. plus its not like felipe drew the picture handed it to you saying "this is what I think of you". yes silly humor can get really old really fast i.e. midori days yuck! but its not a personal insult on your intelligence.

[I’m not trying to back-seat moderate, and you do have the right to state your opinion, but can we please not turn this into yet another “definition of manga” debate?]
Sorry. New to this forum, and anime forums in general. Didn’t know there were debates to begin with.
[Maybe you should do so before going on and on about how much you don’t like them.]
“...but it’s a pretty clear sign that we share two completely different senses of humor....Please, if you’ve read any of this guy’s stories, tell me if it’s actually funny or anything. ”–Altorrin
I’ll change my mind if you answer my question. Deal?
