Wow, not even noon yet, and there's already 5 pages of response!
Truly brilliant. We, the fans, demand that Megan becomes a regular character.

I saw the "There's always a catch" and expected the worst.
Did not expect the "insanity" route.

So did I, my friend, so did I.
This is just like when a girl hooks up with an obvious 'bad boy'. "I can make her change! I can make her change!"
I will bet you dollars-to-donuts those 3 guys aren't really Otakukin, they're other guys who asked Megan out and are catering to her insane whims just so they can hang out with the pretty girl. (As such, they will all hate Kevin for being Tamahome aka 'the boyfriend'.)
So many ways for this to spiral out of control now...

I can just picture Nina and Paola looking at Kevin and asking:
"Uhh...Kevin? Why did you get a tattoo on your forehead?"

Of course I'm exempt since I haven't watched it . . . . . . |
I haven't seen the title either. I had to use Google just to get the references.

I'm having a feeling that those Flacks were Robin's influence for this strip.

heh, it's all experience, Kev. Even the crazy ones. At least she's probably a girl...
So I wonder if Kevin has even processed what this means. I had to go read up on it, sounds like it will be funny... Can you imagine the looks on Paola and Nina's faces? Nina will prolly accept it right away, but I'm Seein' Paola as the nemisis...which could be fun.
Thanks for being so sneaky, Robin.
It would be Too Right! if the first words out of Paola's mouth are:
"huh, didn't see that one coming..."

It could be worse. She could always be a Twilight fan.

You know, the whole time I've been reading through the comments, I kept thinking, "what worse character could she have chosen? Does *anyone* like Miaka?"
But no, you're right. Nothing is worse than a Twilight fan.

Robin.. I am deeply impressed *__* I enjoyed ANN since it's first strip, but to me this is such a brilliant fresh twist on the story that it could lift ANN to a whole new level of greatness.
For a while, waiting for the catch, ANN had more suspense than an early Death Note volume ::laughs:: And now you had me fooled again! "There's always a catch!" - I was thinking "Oh no! Poor Kevin, I'm too scared to click!! Nyargh! " and then I read....
and my facial expressions somewhat matched with Kevin... but the "Yes" was so uncalled for I BURST out in laughter but thought "YES! YOU DA MAN!"
From here on, the possibilities seem endless and hillarious.. the interactions between Nina, Paolla and Megan's Gang - Kevin's attempts on Tamahome-Impressions, the adventures they must face! The villians! Will this love stand the test of time and sanity!?
Wow... wait! This reminds me of a Korean movie I saw a while ago: "I'm a Robot - but that's ok" - a great movie which showcases inside a madhouse and describes the growing love between a girl that believes she's a robot and a guy that believes he can steal any ability and trait of other people - a potential inspiration maybe? If so, excellent transfer of inspiration! ^_~ If not, even more brilliant!
Anyway, SOOOOOO excited how this goes on - I'm ultimately Nina-hooked from now on ^__^

Me neither, but I can't say I am surprized though either. Well as long as she is genuenely nice and isn't completly out of her mind, I don't see why this wouldn't work out.
But her three friends must remain friends and not become anything closer if the relationship will work out though. But Kevin's reaction was priceless. Great job Kevin.

Hopefully she's not also secretly yandere.
The first meeting between her and Nina should be quite. . . interesting to say the least. While I suspose she could pick Paola as her nemesis, Nina just makes too much sense. |
Wasn't Nina herself mistaken for an otakukin back in one of the early strips? Could make for a very interesting meeting indeed.

Now that I have foreseen the future, you must do what I say for the storyline to be worthy of my blessing.
