Oh, good gravy. Keep your expectations low for the Eva detective story. I was following that while I still had my subscription to Asuka and it was a dismal, dismal disappointment. The art is GOD awful and Kaworu is literally the only character who looks halfway decent because he's been transformed into this uber generic bishounen.

So long as he keeps his signature prettiness, I'm fine~

On the other hand, I'm surprised they didn't mention the role the Evangelion play in this series. spoiler[Shinji, Kaworu, Asuka, and Rei summon them using talisman-like things, but the Eva are given human forms. Fetish-pandering bishounen human forms, which I would be ABSOLUTELY fine with if they did a damn thing other than float around looking... really, really stupid.]

[...] Just because it's under the Evangelion label does not make it ANY good. I just question whether they looked at the series itself or licensed it based on property power, because imho, this should NEVER see an English release, it's just that bad.

Then again, people of course have the right to read it and see for themselves. I'm just saying, keep your expectations low. Bedrock low. ]

Unless it's the actual canon manga (which will be getting a Viz omnibus release, thank goodness), all NGE alternative manga should be met with lower than dirt expectations; center of the Earth level expectations, if I were to exaggerate. They are simply meant to capitalize on the Eva franchise just like any other Spin-off manga.

For example, I liked the My-Hime anime so, when I heard there was a manga, I ended up buying the first two volumes...and promptly went back to the store to get my money back.

So yeah, with that in mind. I just want to flip through this manga because the pandering is aimed at me. Twisted Evil

Well, it's good to know DH hasn't dropped out of the manga scene I guess.

...now how about finishing up Ghost Talker's Daydream and licensing Monophobia too? Mad

Omg, FINALLY. I've been wanting to read Lone Wolf and Cub, but hate those teeny tiny books. Yay!

Exactly. That format was unreadable.

but easy to carry with you on a train? which I think is why they were done like that to begin with? for the Japanese readers/commuters.

at any rate, I'd like to buy the larger format as well.

Oooh, Lone Wolf & Cub omnibuses, I want to check that out! Rent it when the library gets it, see if I wanna buy it then (I can't really blind buy stuff anymore).

Same here. I've never read LWAC myself but I've heard so many good things about it, I'm dying of curiosity~!

What's more, that Trigun anthology could be very cool, as well as the EVA detective manga (I'm not going to lie: I'm a sucker for a good detective tale).

Considering the Trigun short story anthology, I'll wait for reviews.
