This... sounds amazing. I mean that. As often as not, these items don't really appeal to me (people have different tastes), but this sounds fascinating. I hope Toei streams it, they've done so much already (I'm watching Galaxy Express and Captain Harlock now), but in the mean time... fansubs are sometimes a necessary evil, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(edit: typo)

Didn't know Haneda died until I read part of the review? Why didn't ANN report it? Mad Edit: Oh, they did, but off their Aussie site. Razz

It took me the length of 5 seconds to find a fansub.

After reading this article I really want to see it, even though this movie seems to contain shonen-ai. Drama, romance, produced in the beginning of 80es and it is one of the first shoujo series? Have to see this.

Yaoi fans may find similarities with Takemiya's other non-sci-fi work of drama, Sanctus: Song of the Wind and Trees; but frankly I find this film to be the better of the two.

Them's fightin' words. Wink

Nah, I'm kidding. Keiko Takemiya is definitely the best when it comes to teenage angst and coming-of-age. I was very impressed by both Toward the Terra and Kaze to Ki no Uta, so I'll check this out whenever the opportunity arises.

Me three. Amazon is, for once, no help. It wants to sell me Heinlein, which would be fine if I were in the mood for sci-fi and not shojo. Wink

An anime this rare and well-crafted, from the sound of it, sounds like it could give many adult viewers a trip down memory lane. When we thought high school was an evil place and dreaded not being accepted into social circles.

Yes!
I've been waiting ages for something by Keiko Takemiya to appear on Buried Treasures.
This is and Kaze To Ki No Uta are my favorites of the seventies/eighties shounen-ai drama, and are worthy of being classics.

I wouldn't be too keen if it does wind up being streamed since it's only 60 muinutes, but I've been wondering if it'd be licensed by Right Stuff, since they released the To Terra movie in the US, as well as licensing other anime series that focus on male relationships, such as Gravitation and Antique Bakery.

Edit: Er, wouldn't this be an R4?
I'm pretty sure it never had a released in english, although there is an english fansub that's apparently being re-done.

Oops, the rating is wrong. It should be R4. I'll fix it.

Guh, I'm gonna replace that stupid meter soon. Between the pliability of the internet and the advance of legal streaming, there need to be separate meters with fewer options.
