This has saddened me a bit as Bamboo is one of my favourite writers on ANN, and I'm going to sorely miss her reviews and her jokes. Shelf Life has hands down become my favourite column, and is one of the little perks of Monday.
Bamboo - the best of luck to you, and you will be missed on Shelf Life.
Edit: Aww man! Is that a Yawara! cell? Lucky!

Aye... and perhaps one day to actually watch 'em.
PS - only 2 Chise figures? All things considered, doesn't that count as a lack?

And no worries, of course you'll organize your collection when you buy a house!

Bamboo, thank you for all the reviews you have written! Your column is one that I have been following these past couple of years, and it was always nice to read your thoughts on different shows. It was also a treat to look at the Shelf Obsessed portion of the article, as it gave a glimpse to a variety of fans' collections.
Bamboo, thank you for all these years and I wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors!
And to Erin, I look forward to reading your reviews!

Bamboo is a good writer, and I'll be sad to see her leave Shelf Life...but I'll be happier to see her write on a wider variety of subjects. It might not be a popular thing to say, but I think it would be a waste of talent to spend more than 7 years writing anime reviews...Then again it's a special talent just being able to watch that much anime and still have reasonable opinions.

I like reading a review by someone who can actually quantify a series good and bad points and make me want to watch it. My anmime collection is like yours-jammed into a bookcase and a bunch of boxes and just big ol' piles lying around my place on the floor.

I'm very sad to hear Bamboo's leaving Shelf Life. I've been reading SL since the very beginning, and it has consistently been my favorite column on ANN thanks to Bamboo's excellent writing -- and because I knew if she enjoyed something, I probably would too. I have this column to thank for introducing me to 12 Kingdoms (which I then blind bought the first two DVDs of and loved) as well as numerous other great series.
Thanks for all the wonderful columns, and good luck in your future endeavors here at ANN and elsewhere, Bamboo!
Also, awesome figures and "shelves."

Thank you, Bamboo, for all the great Shelf Life columns over the years. This column is one my favorites on ANN. It's sad to see you go, but cool that you will have time now to work on other things you are interested in doing. I'm sure you are leaving us in good hands, so I'll look forward to the first edition of the new Shelf Life.

I'll truly miss you, Bamboo, but I suppose your departure from this column will only make me appreciate and look forward to your involvement more. Such has been the case with Ms. Summer Mullins. I believe it'll be the same with you.
I wish you the absolute best, in whatever it is you do.

I too am sad to see you go, but happy for your pursuit of new & interesting things. Being a slightly burnt-out fangirl myself (with similar tastes), I've always enjoyed your column. Have an awesome time and enjoy geeking out causually!

Well, Bamboo, I've really enjoyed your column over the years. I will say that the most memorable installment was back in '05 when you reviewed Gunslinger Girl. Back then, you would say, "If you like this, then try this other show." Well, that other show was Saikano. It is one of my all-time favorites. The funny thing is, after watching it once, four years ago, I still haven't worked up the courage to watch it again.
I will, someday. Thank's again, Bamboo!
