Even if it is boring it has been successful and would obviously, or so I thought, be a much more suitable candidate to receiving an mmorpg than... Shin chan of all things.

technically it used to have one
it just wasn't very good

Agreed. I've watched the first series and second series and really enjoyed both. Granted, the first series was slightly darker, but overall was quite enjoyable.

The manga is also good as well, but I found the anime slightly more exciting. The artwork was well drawn in the manga though, so that was a plus.

I also have played all but the PS3 .Hack video games. They are a bit challenging, but quite fun after you get the hang of it. The video game's music was also quite the treat as well.

So in my opinon, .Hack is anything but boring.
