Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
So, the English dub version of FMA: Brotherhood is set to premiere Sunday morning (or Saturday evening) at midnight (EST and PST). It's pretty convenient that the first episode we get shows a good portion of the main characters (and their VAs), even if most of them are being played by the same actors as in the previous dub so we know what to expect. In any case, the first 13 or so episodes of Brotherhood are kinda tough to get through since it's covering ground that the first series already went over- and it doesn't cover them any better- but after that it does improve considerably. And the production values are better than that of the first series, so that might make you stick around until it gets to the good stuff. I hope they did a better job with this dub than with the last. Too bad Vic "Whispering is the same as acting, right?" Mignogna continues to plague Edward Elric.

It's better than having a guy character played by a woman.

It worked. Unlike a forty year old man playing a teen boy. |

Well I for one can't wait to hear the dub, I kind of only made it to episode 8 or 9 of Brotherhood because I just grew annoyed with the Japanese cast.
I've already set the tivo upstairs and the DVR on the nice t.v down stairs to record it. Why the need to record it in two different places of my house, I really don't know. |

I thought he did an excellent job with the character. As an actor overall, he may not have the same range as, say, Billy West (he has the range of Dana Snyder), but his voice and his tone fit with Ed. Actually, I think Ed is his best-fit voice. Some of his other characters (like Ikkaku Madarame) don't sound so... right. And it could be worse. We could've been stuck with Greg Ayres. Yeck. |

I think I speak for everyone when I say this:
If you are at home and you have access to this channel but forget/choose to not watch it, you're part of the problem. ...In a totally non-blaming way, I mean to say please people... Do NOT forget to watch (Or at LEAST) DVR the show. |

What else has Vic M. done?
My first exposure to him was in FMA. Thought he did okay - was the character Ed to me. Then I heard him in the ADV Macross redub as Hikaru (Rick Hunter) and it sounded like the EXACT same character as Ed. So I wasn't impressed. |

Well, he's been in Bleach, he was Broly in DBZ movies, and I think he was a minor part in Excel Saga. He sang one of the English versions of the One Piece theme songs, too (quite well). I'm not really a fan of his, though.
You can use the Encyclopedia to see all the roles he's played. |

he's in a good number of things though i don't always recognize his voice right away. aside from things already listed i know he also voiced Fay in tsubasa reservoir chronicles and he's doing Spirit's voice in the soul eater dub.
never thought of him as a bad actor i always thought he was pretty good. |

I'm watching the dub right now,Vic Mignogna is just as good as ever as Edward Elric
however, the new voice actress for Alphonse is a bit too high pitched compared to his original dub voice actor (which his last one was a male gave him a lower pitch), but however, alphonse new voice is pretty good and is close to the original actor ( and it;s understandable since his last voice actor is now older) |
