Really? You sure about that? Rolling Eyes

Good point but I was not trying to say Law Enforcement is infallible (if it came off like that my apologies for not being clear enough) I was trying to make. What I was trying to say is that the average person or someone in Law Enforcement if they where objective (although I don't think anyone can be 100%objective). Was that you could easily tell the difference between something portrays rape as an act of violence. Or something that portrays it as an act of ambiguous consent or pleasure that's what I was trying to say. Besides my bigger point was you cant trust that everyone has the same morals or ethics as you. Or that you must defend anything and everything for the sake of some fanatical idea of free speech. The fact that some would have no qualms defending such things just proves my point and shows how decadent our world has become. But I digress I guess you just cant convince some people.

You'll find this is especially true when you invoke God as a basis for law enforcement.

Even Jesus recognized an essential difference between crime and sin. Perhaps your version of Christianity is more fundamentalist than Christ's.

Is Chris Handley a sinner? Sure. Is he looking at eternal consequences on his soul for his life of depravity? Perhaps. Immoral? Quite arguably. Bad choice of babysitter? Probably. This has all been established in past discussions.

Does he belong behind bars with actual sex offenders who are guilty of preying upon other human beings, with a possibility of indefinite imprisonment thanks to the SCOTUS ruling GATSU posted over the weekend? Jesus Wouldn't Do It. But hey, don't let that keep you from your crusade.

I recall a few yrs back reading Walmart was forced to cover nude lawn statues in their garden shops in one of the southern states.
Yeah, most people can tell the dif between art & porn.

I have worked in Law Enforcement for the last 15 yrs. It is impossible to be an expert in everything. I have been asked about anime because it is known in my office that's my hobby. One can't guarantee I have equivelents in other offices, can we?

As far as faith in one's fellowman to make the right choice. Not to sound like too much of a cynic but I don't put much faith in other people because man is in his natural unregenerate state is totally depraved morally.

I believe society has risen to eliminate all the pits of despair you named so overall, humans must be pretty decent.
When there are disasters, people help one another. However, it is that same desire to protect the "innocent" that allows society to go too far. I awoke this morning to news of a sexual predator in the area having attacked a school girl. Authorities say he had a GPS on last night, but apparently cut it off this morning to steal a purse from a woman (who got his plate) & attack the girl who fought him off. I can already imagine someone squaking we obviously need to do more-maybe imbed the GPS inside of the criminals.
