She got my vote in the overseas category for the seiyuu awards. I was disappointed that she didn't win the best newcomer award, but starring in a family show on NHK-E probably doesn't attract the same level of attention as work in more lucrative shows on the commercial networks. I thought her performance was quite remarkable in its range and nuance. Her voicings changed as Erin grew older, and thoughout she made Erin an intelligent, caring, and compelling character. Best performance by a newcomer in my book since Yuuki Aoi's work as Murasaki in Kure-nai. |
