Hurray! I was hoping they would! Definitely picking both of these up. Very curious to hear how Churuya's dub will turn out.

That's what I'm hoping for too...I was tempted to import the Blu-rays from Japan for K-ON! but I'm gonna hang tight for the summer to see what happens in the con season with announcements...

And if the mysterious license is actually K-ON!, my summer would be made. Very Happy

These are 2 things I'm really interested in how the dubs turn out. I really don't know if they can possible do all the craziness better then the Japanese did and still have it be funny. That said I can't wait to hear it.

I also hope their other license is K-ON! however when I brought that up in the Bang Zoom podcast thread everyone basically said I was a moron and there was no way that's what it was. Most seem to think it's Summer Wars despite rumors running rampant that Funi has already licensed Summer Wars. Either way one can hope.

Technically, K-ON already has an English dub license for the English speakers of S. Asia via Animax. However, I hope they get a better dub for it here because I've heard clips of it and I think 4kids does a better than it.

If they dub the songs, I say hell yea to a K-ON license. If they don't, I say don't bother. I mean, they can still license it, but I wouldn't buy it.

I've never been one to be modest so I have to agree 100%. I am full of awesome sauce.

I don't think Bandai would have K-ON. Lucky Star didn't do well for them, although that could partially be due to the fact that they spent too much on the LEs...

I really don't know. Is K-ON popular enough here that people would buy it? Especially when some watched it through fansubs?

If you go by fan reaction and response on the net then yes K-ON! is more then popular enough to warrant Bandai bringing it over here. You can't really take people who watched fan subs into account because that's gonna happen with nearly every series so it's not gonna matter if alot of people watched it fan subbed or not. EVERYONE watched Haruhi fan subbed yet the first season sold well enough to get the 2nd season and movie released.

The reason I think it's more likely K-ON! is because it fits better with what they have been releasing in past few years. If you look back with the exception of Code Geass and Gundam 00 most of Bandai's big releases have been Otaku shows(Lucky Star, Haruhi) K-ON! kinda fits that mold. It could just be hopefulness on my part but I think it's pretty likely.

My thoughts as well. I can't tell what is worse Endless Eight or this. Though Endless Eight was nothing but the same episode almost eight times, I really can't imagine this any better.

Like _V_ said this is rather disheartening news.

Geez, what's eating you guys? It's just some silly comedy shorts. How could that be anywhere near as bad as Endless Eight?

I, for one, am happy about this. The shorts were funny. And it's not like they'll eat up all that much space. Plus, with the dubbing, I won't miss some of the funny moments while trying to read the subtitles.
