Yippee! More Index, Touma and MISAKA. MISASKA screams happily.

That's the real question to me too. The shows, Index & Railgun, seem popular enough in the fan community. I wonder what it would take for a distributor here to pick it up. (and yes, I know, money...) But there are other issues that make up the deal as well. Here's to crossing fingers.

WOW, it's finally happening!! Great news. The first season ended on such a cliff hanger.
Now, can someone pick up THIS series and 'Railgun' NOW while we're waiting for S2 to get completed?

Yeah, I'm hoping this series would get licensed for R1 release. It does have great potentials for distribution and a dub.
Oh yeah, I'm quite ecstatic about the news here.

Awesome news. Having not read any of the light novels, I have no idea how the story progresses, but it seemed pretty obvious the way the first one ended that there was a lot more to be done. Plus it seemed like a reasonably popular series, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it got a second season. Still happy to hear that it's official, and hopefully like Blood said it's a 24-26 ep series instead of just a 12-13. Some 13 ep series just feel like they miss out on a lot of their potential by having to cram too much into too small a window.
Then again, some feel like they went on for 12 eps too many

Not unexpected. It seems to be the SOP now that you run a season take a semester or so off, then run the 2nd season instead of running everything continuously.
The only concern is that there seems to be more characters and organizations than Bleach.

There are, but at the very least, the story as a whole is sort of split up into three different main protagonists, which helps it stay organized as a whole, so to speak. They all got their own problems, organizations, and arcs which tie together.
The first season was all Touma, but the series as a whole is more or less equally split up between Touma, Accelerator, and Shiage.

I was hoping Index would see a second season. I wonder if more shows will do something similar? (A spin off series, this one being Railgun, verses endless filler to keep people's interest.) I hope the second season is able to pick up right where the first left off, cause, let's face it, it really did just kinda stop. I'm looking forward to it.

So, is there an official/confirmed airdate out yet? I'd presume it would be Fall season this year, since things are generally announced a season before they air, but that's really just a wild guess on my part.

As for that PSP game:
Figma Mikoto's going to be an exclusive pack-in with the game, it seems.
Fuuuuuuuu~
That pretty much kills any hope for a more expansive lineup, if one of the most important characters in the series is being relegated to an exclusive release.
