actually it really picks up after/during the Arlong arc, and then each passing arc gets better and better until skypeia then after its probably one of the best Shounen arcs ever.

Well, first you gotta get through G8 and Davy Back Fight... and then begins one of the best shounen arcs ever.

But if your expecting One Piece to remain precisely the same for another 100 episodes, that is extremely far from being accurate.

i would say the plot advances, but its still the same quirky character designs and humor, which is what one piece really excels at, the balance between whacked out humor and the very serious moments later on.

g8 is a filler arc. and Davy Back is mostly filler and is really only worth it for the humor, spoiler[AFRO LUFFY!]

Exactly. That is why I truly enjoy watching and reading One Piece. The series is never too serious, but is able to strike a balance as well.

I do like serious moments, but only when they need to be serious. I've read and sometimes discontinued reading manga's because they became too serious. I remember this one series was initially very good, but later in the series, it felt like all the comedy and light bits of comedy disappeared entirely.

One Piece is a exceptional series and it's a series worth watching if you like exceptionally high quality anime.

As for Dragon Ball Kai, the theme song is truly exceptional...

Do you really think so? I hate the opening and closing themes to Kai. I also think the animation in the OP and ED are just ugly.

I wouldn't have gone through all the trouble of finding the Blu Ray version if I didn't want to see the entire episode as cleanly as possible.

I really enjoy hearing the song, it's upbeat, positive, has cool lyrics and is relate able to the show. Is it as good as Rock the Dragon? Maybe, but Rock The Dragon was one of the better 90's theme songs, so I'd say both are pretty well made.

In my opinion, the English version is much better than the original song. The original is cool, but doesn't say much about the series. I also don't get the feeling of the singer going all out and well above like the English version.

So yes, I really do think so. But I've been watching anime for about a decade now, so what I like may be different than the younger anime fans and some of the much older anime fans. And NO I am not saying you or anyone else is old. Just to get that out and in the open.

I feel marginally confident that I can outlast Oda, so I'm hoping that it ends before he dies.

My problem with Maria-sama ga Miteru was that I kept waiting for the episode where Sachiko led Yumi into her Lesbian Torture Dungeon. Not that I am a huge fan of that, but I always felt this weird vibe in the series that something like that was going to happen.

There's a mash-up video of Marimite and Cream Lemon: Escalation. Audio from Cream Lemon, video from Marimite:

Even though Cream Lemon is best known as an H anime anthology, there were apparently some light novels for the Escalation sub-series, making the similarities to Marimite more amusing.

(In case you haven't seen it, Cream Lemon: Escalation is basically lesbian Catholic schoolgirl porn drama with BDSM.)

Dude, G8 is like one of the best filler arcs ever.

Of course, some people like the local skirmish approach and want it back, so I guess you can't have everything.

Wasn't One Piece always switching between main plot and "fillers"?
While it's something that hasn't happened in a while in the anime (unless we're counting the pre-movie special), I highly doubt it's gone for good. If we're still halfway through, then I'm sure we'll get a lot more of this.
I like it either way. But having too much of the same can be quite exhaustive.

Anyway, I love One Piece's length. No matter how bad a current season might get (not that any did), One Piece will be there nearly every week.

Because Pizza Hut is just as happy with the product placement in the US as they are in Japan?
