Introduction on AnoHana.

Once upon a time they were close friends. But when they were in high school, they grew apart before they knew it:
Jintan, the main character, a hikikomori.
Anaru, who feels like a gal-friend [um, someone help me with the slang here!]
"Yukiatsu" and "Tsuruko," who are attending prep-school.
"Poppa," who never went to high school so her could travel.
And among all that has changed since they were close in elementary school, "Menma," the girl who hasn't changed at all. [calling bets that she's spoiler[already dead]?]

One day Menma asks Jintan, "Please grant my wish." Troubled, Jintan searches for Menma's wish. To grant it, he must once again gather all their childhood friends from their lives in various places.
____
Man, it's like they painted the word "melodrama" on this in giant flashy neon paint!

Looking good. I hope C does a great job with the financial theme. The character designs look kind of amateur-ish to me (though they look better in the actual PV). The background art, on the other hand, is amazing. Doesn't look as... psychedelic as Mononoke/Trapeze, but it looks gorgeous all the same.

Anohana looks pretty moe for a noitaminA show, but I'm fine with that. I'm glad that noitaminA is making borderline(?) moe shows, josei shows (Kuragehime, Usagi Drop), and more experimental shows at the same time. It's good to have some variety, and I do feel that every trend (including the moe one) has potential. Hopefully noitaminA taps into that potential. As far as the promo art goes, it looks kind of similar to Hanasaku Iroha.
