I would love to see 4Kids go into a direction they didn't go when Kahn was CEO. Now to wait and see what will happen to the Company.

Such a... beloved, much.... respected... and universally.... accepted member of the anime community... His... thoughtful and necessary choices in... licensing...anime... will be greatly missed. *cough*

No, actually. Actually, maybe somebody with half a brain will be put in charge of the whole outfit. In my dream world, Gen Fukunaga somehow takes over the company and makes it a part of FUNimation, releasing quality anime that doesn't NEED to be edited onto American airwaves. Then we
can have another boom like we did in the early 2000's, just like when I was a little kid, and... and... ah, screw it. It'll probably get taken over by another uninformed dolt who will make anime fans accept that their shows "will be available in two versions" (direct quote from Kahn himself.) And then people will resort to fansubs more, and then the anime industry will get thrown into a deeper hole, and... Well, you get the picture. Unless something utterly miraculous and amazing happens, this company is going to keep bowdlerizing the shows we loved so much before they go through the corporate meat grinder.

But hey, a little wishful thinking never hurt, right? That's what got us having the Evangelion Rebuild sequel put on movie screens across America, right? Right. So maybe a little wishful thinking will keep quality shonen titles from being thrown to the dogs like they were for the past, oh, decade or so. Razz

I say we get his mailing address and flood his mailbox with used copies of One Piece & Tokyo Mew Mew. Should be cheap enough to get off eBay, right?

Young sir, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Provided these wings aren't attached to Kanna.

Unfortunately, having read the comments further, it seems the point was completely lost thanks to the over-abundance of "fact"-based opinion.

Fixed. I'll wager that roughly 80 % of those never realised it was anime, and I'll include Kahn in that as well, and BTW that's not the reason he has been vilified anyway. It's what he did afterwards, and the way he treated anime and its fans when Tokyo Mew Mew, and One Piece blew up in his face.

Some of you seem to be under the impression that this will magically change the practices of 4Kids in their treatment of anime.

Protip: It probably won't.

That's "up to $1.5m" ... 4Kids has to survive another six months for him to get the full amount.
