The reason Agito's and the rest's looks have changed is because their manga/OVA looks are WAAAAAYYY out of date (ex: Sho and Mizuki's hairdues, Tetsuro's glasses, etc...)

I love how they've already shown designs for Unit 1, yet their not even showing one image of Unit 3.
They know we all know Unit 3 rocks.

All these pics look purely gorgeous: let's hope we'll get a 'complete' storyline this time
Concerning the characters, though I like them overall, I'm slightly disappointed with Mizuki's design but as long as she doesn't play the 'pretty idiot' it's fine with me: she's a 'strong' character IMO and deserves a good acting...

I finally watched the rest of the original series after about a 10 year hiatus of when I saw the first two episodes dubbed on VHS.
Judging by those pictures, it looks like they'll be starting back from the beginning, only this time they have 14 more episodes to tell the rest of the story. I am anxiously looking forward to it.
I also saw the two live action movies. I liked the first one a little (though I was really young) and the second one was.. OK, I suppose.
Anyway, just for kicks, in case none of you have seen this, I think this is one of THE best cosplays I've ever seen:

It has been 13 years since the third OVA, I don't see why it is so surprising to start fresh.
Better to start fresh and be faithful to the manga versus continue on an anime with major continuity issues!

Correction: There are 22 volumes (23 in December 2005). Nine units? Where do you get that from? o_O In the guyver continuity canon, there are 6 units: Guyver 0, 1, 2, 3 (manga) Guyver US, and Guyver Zoanoid (movies).

Well if we count Guyver II twice (female - Out of Control) & regular (from the manga), that would be 7. Still where do the last two come in?
No offense, but have you even read the manga?

Advent_Nebula, could you give us a more direct link, rather than a search engine?

The Guyver is my favorite anime. I have been watching it for about 11, almost 12 years. I have the 2 DVDs, 4 of the old VHS, and a bunch of the random comic books. I have seen both the live action movies, and out of control. The new pics for this series look awesome. I can't wait. Any idea when they might be translated into english/available to buy on DVD/available in north america?

My guess is the second quarter of 2006, maybe first quarter if we get lucky.
