Probably because it's listing the releases for the whole month rather than just the week? That's a new thing, right? Otherwise I'm just unobservant.

Wow, look at all that manga... I count 9 volumes I'm planning to get! I guess that's about average, actually.

Can Someone tell me why Garden of Sinners costs a freaking $598.98? I mean why the heck does it cost nearly 600 dollars?

That's MSRP, to be fair. Right Stuf is the only vendor selling it, and they're letting it go for a mere $400. Anyway, it costs that much ostensibly because it's a BD collector's set. The consensus around here though is that there is no reason it should.

tl;dr, Aniplex is out of touch with the American industry and they're charging Japanese prices.

Well, I pre-ordered my copy of 'Summer Wars' back in Dec. so I can't wait to get that. Not to sound like a kill-joy but I really wish they would release a US ed. (or regular LE) of 'Garden of Sinners'. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Aniplex is not aiming for the American industry in the first place, so there's no need for them to keep in touch.

Well, they did go to the trouble of doing an English translation. But yeah, I guess it's just the Japanese version being imported, rather than a US domestic release.

Edit: Actually, I see from your link that "Aniplex of America announced on Monday that it will release ufotable's entire Kara no Kyoukai - the Garden of sinners film series in an English-subtitled Blu-ray Disc box in North America". That sounds like aiming for the US market to me... why bother with region-specific announcements if they don't hope it'll sell in that region.

They're aiming for importers. If you're not the type who imports, it's not for you.
