I have to agree with some of what others have said here, and thatyis how this is probably NOT helping the whole "anime is cartoon porn" image we all have to battle with. But at the same time I would like to point out that we all are trying to promote "anime is NOT kiddy cartoons form Japan". By putting this in an adult magazine, the idea of there being a target audience for adult may be seen by some.

Manga=Book. Confused

No, manga = comic in any form, not necessarily a book. Graphic novel = book.

Manga =Book, dumbass.

Seriously. Playboy is the nicest, most highclass "magazine" that get's published. It is a HIGH-CLASS magazine, who CARES if they reviewed a BOOK?

Playboy is porn. There is no such thing as high class porn. Playboy is the nicest, most highclass magazine? You must be joking.

Porno Magazine. It doesn't get any nicer than playboy.
It's barely porno. Except for two or three pages, it's all articles.

Manga hasn't had a stigma attached for YEARS, as somebody said above. EVERYONE reads it, not just losers on teh intarweb. This all roots from a deep seeded "need" for something for people to call their "own".

You should try leaving your little hole sometime. Manga and anime have had and still do have stigma attached to them. Not everyone reads it. Go somewere and ask random people if they read manga. Most of them probably won't even know what manga is, much less read it.

Which would be the purpose of having a review. Confused

You need to stop living in 1998. This is 2005, where Anime has flooded Nickelodean and Cartoon Network, leveling american cartoons in it's path. Every single person I know who has a child has at least two or three manga in their bookshelf. You need to get out of your little persecution complex.

You are being selfish and disgusting.

What anime is on Nickelodian? Cartoon Network has anime on Toonami (which has been reduced to almost nothing compared to what it used to be) and Adult Swim.

You say "every single person I know," but how many people is that? One? Most people I know, have little, if any, knowledge about anime. I usually have to explain it to people.

I have no persecution complex. Where the hell did you get that idea? I never said anyone has done something wrong to me, abused, or mistreated me because I like anime or anything of the sort.

You, on the other hand, seem to have some sort of inferiority complex or something as you insist on calling everyone who doesn't agree with you "selfish and disgusting." And you must have been really worried I wouldn't have noticed your reply since you posted the same message 4 consecutive times and messaged me, with the exact same thing, 4 more times.

Again with the insults. No, manga =/= book. Manga = any form of comic (when used by anime/manga fans, it refers specifically and exclusively to Japanese comics, though). Is the newspaper a book? No. Is a comic strip a book? No. Playboy must be a book too, since it is a collection of pages. And if I print this thread, then it will be a book too. By your definition, Azumangah Daioh was only manga after it was published in volumes. So what were the individual strips then?

EDIT: and since I've posted this message, you have messaged me YET AGAIN with the same goddamn message. Get over yourself already.
