The KFC in my home town opened circa 1965. It originally featured the full restaurant menu which included Ham & Roast Beef.

Probably the most famous KFC Japan mytho is the Curse of the Colonel for Japan's famous lovable losers baseball team Hanshin Tigers, ala the Curse of the Billy Goat (Chicago Cubs).
