Hey, just as a random observation / question. Did anyone else get occasionally confused by the cover? Unless I really pay attention, it looks like Sasha's left arm was actually Mafuyu's right arm. I kinda wish Sentai could have had a better cover, but I'm sure they only had so much artwork to deal with.

Yes, yes I do. It was still a well animated show with enjoyable art. "I don't like the show's premise or that it has ridiculous fanservice. That means all aspects of it must be of the lowest quality, right?" Just like in that Maken-ki OVA thread "It has the Qwaser director so it's gonna be bad!" Yeah, because you don't enjoy or agree with the content doesn't mean the show itself was poorly constructed or directed.

Seikon no Qwaser is not well animated. It doesn't move fluidly and it has limited animation. You meant to say the detail was good. Detail does not make animation. You can say detail is good, but the animation blows. Spongebob is better animated and I'm serious. Spongebob moves more fluidly than Seikon no Qwaser. Spongebob moves more often than Seikon no Qwaser.

"SPONGEBOB HAS BETTER ANIMATION, SO QWASER SUUUUUCCCCKKKSSS." Okay, so Spongebob also has better animation than...pretty much all TV anime. What's your point? "Qwaser's animation isn't better than AKIRA, therefore Qwaser sucks." There, I'd ad ridiculum'd so you don't have to.

Stop being you.

Qwaser has really good animation for the type of anime it is. Most fanservice stuff does admittedly have pretty bad animation but Qwaser is above average when you compare it to everything else out there.

OK I checked out this thread to see if anything funny would happen. I have one question about this though.

This is a famous borderline hentai title right, so why does the cover art look fairly respectable while shojo anime like maid sama are given cover art that make them look like they are hentai or atleast male oriented fan-servicey when they are at all like that!?!

Because Kenetsu Sato's art is gorgeous.

Well, actually a few of the original Japanese BDs have lewd cover art.

I am not denying the art is good or bad I have not seen the show and have 99.999% chance of never seeing it. I just pointing out the very gross marketing I think sentai does. if someone could explain it to me I wish I could understand. sex sells sure, but why oh why sex up a show with no content and then not sex up one with breast sucking!

Yes, because only someone with some severe sexual psychoses could think that making this manga (that birthed this show) was a good idea.

What's so psychotic about it? So they get powers from breast milk. Big deal. It's hardly the craziest thing sen in anime.

Or in the world. Christianity used this motif a lot at some points, and there are numerous paintings of saints suckling the Virgin Mary's breast milk. And I'm pretty sure many religions have similar concepts. Breast milk has often been associated with fertility and nurturing, so it's not really that outrageous when you think about it.

Not to say that the little I saw of this show wasn't quite disturbing (probably 5 minutes of some middle episode?). Just that the idea is not completely bananas

I don't know what's more amusing, the fact that this show has 2 seasons, or that there are people who would defend it as quality entertainment.

I fail to see what's amusing about pointing out that the series does, indeed, have good production quality. It's hardly unusual in recent years to see heavy-fan-service series that also have high-caliber production merits; see Queen's Blade and especially Cat Planet Cuties for other good examples.

@Key

It's amusing because of it's premise. I get that fan service shows with high production values do well, but those shows generally aren't about 14 year olds sucking on women's breasts.

Ok? So what?

That doesn't mean you get to claim that its inherently not a good show because of that.

Do you understand this concept? At all?

Actually I do get to claim that it isn't a good show. Because that's my opinion.

Don't get uppity because I insulted your porn.
