Sir Mix-A-Lot's "I Like Big Butts" (Japanese Anime Version) I consider it more disturbing we haven't talked about large netheregions on characters yet.

i don't really care, i personally (call me crazy) don't care about boobs. I insted, care if they're "cute"...i can't really explain it, but i have a feeling some people will know what i mean (i hope) (and also doubt, as many users here are typical teenagers, which will warrant a ZOMG BOOBS! reply....)

I don't mind the boobs in Bleach, but I just couldn't get past the first episode of Divergence EVE because the boobs just completely ruined any enthusiasm I had going for the series.

Hey Azathrael, I should be feeling old forum wise as I am the creator of this thread. I'm pretty proud of this thread getting so many replies. Pretty much this thread is over 5 months old. I wonder if it'll last a year? Probably not though.

As long as I have the Interweb, I vow I will keep this thread going with interesting posts (non-spam), even if I must go it alone! BTW, let's shift gears to my last post. You really can't talk about T without also mentioning A, so is anyone disturbed with the trend of overly large butts . . . waitasec, ARE THERE overly large butts in Japanese anime? I mean seriously now, most women I see look like they're got a plank running down their spine. Only thing off the top of my head is Mushroom Samba in Cowboy Bebop (which not surprisingly featured tons of black people) and in Full Metal Alchemist (The Elric's Teacher spoiler[may have lost most of ger internal organs, but baby still got back]). I am not sure if there is overly sized ass, but in some anime shows there is alot of it. In that video Frankman posted, which by the way the linked changed when i went to watch it again so I will post the new link at the end of my post, there is alot of butt. Some of the scenes shown in the video I personally was completely unaware of. There is definately alot of A in anime. Some of the shots I think are very degrading. Most of them are just poking fun at the female anatomy and are just objectifying women.

I for one am really annoyed with the CONSTANT objectifying of women...making them nothing more than objects as oppose to characters. I'd rather see a normal looking woman fully armored than some boob-fest. I'm not a pre-teen.  I can't take any character serious that walks around in a nurses outfit. It always ruins the show for me.

I just HATE that not only do they have big boobs (or otherwise) in the anime. I don't mind that i just watch anime for the fun not for that stuff...i hate that they (generaly) put the charachter with the biggest boobs on the cover of the DVD box!

Angel_of_Death...Oops. I hope for your sake your parents don't get the wrong idea. I don't mean that as patronising, I just know what it's like for parents to get *completely* the wrong impression when it comes to 'cult' stuff.
I dislike women being 'objectified' in any medium (though IMO the 'strong female' images are cliched by now, too), but I'm pretty much resigned to the archetypal image of the 'anime girl', which still exists in many people's minds even when the style has moved away from it in certain areas. When it comes to bouncing "boobs which defy gravity" (as UK sci-fi mag SFX reviewed 'Divergence Eve') I just find that a tasteless joke. Fan-service can give harmless anime a bad name, and give people the wrong idea. Take the ROD TV releases for example. The 1st DVD box has one of the ladies on the front, 'attractively' dressed and with very obvious, large breasts. It hardly looks like porn, but it would draw an odd glance from my mother... Which is why I don't leave my DVDs lying around. Too much fan-service in a series can either be overlooked or found irritating. e.g. 'Kiddy Grade': I don't *care* if they're not really children/teenagers. Put more clothes on, woman!
