As i stated earlier, you aren't the CEO of the producer, so it's not your decision.
I'm not either but this whole thing seems to be bothering you much more so. Don't you have anything else to worry about?

And the reason that they should have to move you before the decision to change the name in English to something else, which took place decades ago is ... why, exactly?
You've stated you don't like the name change, and stated its because you are against name changes. Well, there you go, everybody's who cares about the issue has an opinion on it.
But were a rose to be called anything else, would it still smell as sweet?

I'm concerned about preserving the integrity of the original product. If you're not, you might as well not even watch.

The title change means literally nothing at this point in time so I don't see any reason for you to be so worked up over them editing the show to kingdom come.

Buy the Japanese releases if you are so concerned about preserving the originality.
We should make you a judge in the CLC, where your high level of concern for "preserving originality" can further contribute to my 1968 DVC being kicked out of first place because I put a 1978 hood ornament on it
I put it as my avatar for a little while, for everyone's enjoyment.

That looks mighty original for an 1868 Caddy. What do you feed that thing?
Oh yeah it's America.
Nevermind.

It's a 1968.
What do i feed it? Its got a 10.5:1 compression ratio, so i feed it large amounts of high octane gasoline

You see, its not the first part of that, where you have a concern, but the second part, where you project that concern onto others. There is absolutely no reason why everyone should have to share that concern ~ and for those who do, there is no reason they should have to push it to such extremes.

If you aren't concerned about preserving the integrity of the original product, please remove yourself from anime fandom. It's because of attitudes like yours we get substandard product releases.
And this thread isn't about your f***ing car, agila61.
Yamato is Yamato. If they can't release it as such, they shouldn't bother.

"You don't agree with me, so get the hell out of my sight before I throw a hissy fit!" Don't worry, the waaaaaambulance is on its way.

Titles are changed all the time to increase appeal in local markets. This isn't anything new, special or the least bit unusual.

^^ That was funny.
I see a bright future for penguintruth - but not in the diplomatic corps.
And that's my car not agula61's.

It's unusual to change the name of the key piece of the plot when it doesn't necessitate it whatsoever. Especially something as iconic as Yamato.

Its Only iconic in Japan...
And don't forget it was sunk by swarms of aircraft, itself never having sunk anything, while only contributing to the sinking of a DD, a DE and a CVE.
If Jay Leno were to do one of his 'street walking' stints in LA and ask 1,000 people what was the Yamato, 990 would have no idea, maybe 8 or 9 would say its a Japanese steakhouse restaurant, and possibly 1 will know of the IJN Yamato. That's how conic it is here.

So we should change the name because it's not widely known in America?
Because people keep up with Greek mythology well, right? The only time anyone heard the word "Argo" in the past twenty years was that Ben Affleck movie.
The ship is the Yamato. That's what it is. There's literally zero reason to change its name. Anyone who would be bothered by the name is either long dead or you.
