Well it is a striking series, a bit strange and scary at times. Sorry they had the production problem but that can happen ...it is a complex and difficult task at the best of times. Hope they get it worked out.

I feel like this is probably the real battle that the show is depicting: can they finish the rest of the work on time?

I want to believe.

Unless you have a significant lead time, that can easily happen, especially with detailed animation. I'd be interested to know what the unfinished episodes looked like when they were broadcast...missing scenes?...shorter?...unfinished scenes?

So is this the big SnK controversy I keep hearing about?

I'm only on episode 2...I like the show but....

Doesn't MBS and Tokyo MX air before Hokkaido TV though? So I would think that any delay would affect MBS/Tokyo MX rather than Hokkaido TV??

It's rather troubling to run into such problems so early. They can try to get by through force of numbers (by sourcing work anywhere, whether in Japan or overseas), but this can have huge impacts on overall quality.

I haven't started watching this yet, but is this snag going to effect the simulcasts?

Well, Funimation did delay the latest episode due to not getting the content on time. So it might be true. Although I don't think it affected Crunchyroll's simulcast, but they might've went with the unfinished episode version.

^ I do believe Crunchyroll's simulcast went up late as well. I recall there being some talk about it in the main discussion thread

I was wondering: is anyone watching this on Funimation instead of Crunchyroll?

Maybe it refers to the respective stations' cutoff time for receiving episodes from production studios?

That was my impression upon reading the article.

Well it isn't surprising given how gorgeous this show looks. On the other hand I thought they finished these episodes. I just watched them both a few days ago with them having no signs of being incomplete. What exactly was unfinished?

I am. Somehow, I've never had any major issues with my elite subscription
