Pretty typical FUNi casts overall. It's cool to see Kate Bristol in a cast.

Why exactly is the content an issue for the actors?

because...BEWBS!!! I know, it's disgusting.

But really, it's not hentai, it's just comedy ecchi, why be prudish and go with an pseudonym? It just makes you look like you don't even appreciate working on it.

Oh wait, is it more of that union workaround stuff?

It's pretty sad they have to use pseudonyms in the first place.

For those that do, do they ever publicly reveal their identities? What about at cons?

It depends on the voice actor. Some go go great lengths to hide these aliases (like Trina Nishimura/Anita Neukar), while some will openly admit it's them (like Rebecca Forstadt/Reba West).

It's for professional reasons. They might not feel comfortable having their name attached to an overtly sexual or borderline-pornographic title, especially if their full time job involves children. Some places of work might feel uncomfortable hiring or employing someone who has their name attached to erotic anime titles. It might also hinder their chances of booking voice work on certain properties, since if a parent (by chance) somehow notices that a particular voice actor worked on both Pokemon (which their child watches) and a show like Queens Blade, it would not be pretty. In short, a voice actor may feel that having their name on a title like this would do more harm than good. It would certainly not be attractive if their employer found out (or so they think).

While union/non-union can also play a factor in using aliases, that is not a factor in this production.

The Future Diary's dub casting is nonsense. Based on the list and the trailer, it seems like they are going for a more "interpretative" route, going for what fit the character's look and role than how the the Japanese side was originally done. The thing is, that was very well done and the voices were befitting the characters.

That's not so much the case here, where the voices/VAs really don't match up. Perhaps my view is tainted from having already watched it subbed, but I don't get why FUNimation went the direction they did when the vocal styles were already appropriate enough. Not a fan of J. Michael Tatum's behind-the-scenes credentials, either (poor/awkward scripts, alters too much of the dialogue)…

On a separate note, it's interesting to see LA's Christopher Smith in the dub (still ill-fitting, though…).

Loved Future Diary!
I was seriously wondering when the hell we'd see something from Funi about it- I was literally constantly checking ever since I first heard about them getting it whichwassolongago...

Anyways... While, based on the trailer alone, I'm iffy on the dubs... I'm usually one to like english dubs better, but I'm almost leaning to liking the original ones more so this time around.
And I gotta say, I really did like the voice acting in this series.
But!
I said the same thing about Madoka Magica too, and after getting used to it, I found I rather liked the dub.
So, really I'm not too worried about this at all~
And while at first Yuno sounded a little off, as the trailer went on, I did start to kinda like it (which is odd to say since the trailer is only a little over a minute long...)- So yeah! SOOOOOOOOOOO excited to re-watch this dubbed!

My only hope (because I'm so torn on the dubbed voices) is that they do just as good a job with spoiler[the last ep from when she's sees her 'other' self and 'other' family to when Yuno commits suicide and that entire scene ('cause imo that was just such a great scene...) as the original voice cast did.
I'd so hate to see it be not as moving as it was before (and imo, again, I thought it was. And also probably because there just wasn't a lot of other moving things to be seen from shows from that season that I remember)]

Anyways, AGAIN! SO excited and can't wait~

I'm sorry, what? I guess I can ascertain "writer" is the guy actually writing the scripts, but the difference between the first two titles eludes me.

I wonder what it was about Samurai Girls that made everyone use an alias, even people that don't normally use one, like Luci Christian when she was credited as herself in Freezing

Some of the actors for High School D X D are brand new. Felicia Angelle is one of them. Not all are aliases.

I doubt any ANN staff will answer this question but why aren't Jamie Marchi and Scott Freeman (DxD leads) also highlighted with the Future Diary leads?

Quote:
Scott Freeman, Jamie Marchi star in High School DxD shipping on DVD and Blu-ray on August 20

That so hard to write?

Seems kind of bias IMO to only highlight the Future Diary lead VAs even though this is a shared news post...

Finally! Finally! We finally got a dub cast for Future Diary! I waited so %#^%#Q^ long for this! I wonder who was going to voice the crazy girlfriend Yuno.

......Sadly, I'm kind of unimpressed who they casted as Yuno. I was hoping for a higher pitch tone sort of voice. Nonetheless, I'll check it out.
