For the survey I had a hard time picking between Aldra and Forbesii. I pretty much liked everyone from Shuffle and thought Forbesii was a pretty cool and laid back character. I ended up picking Aldra from Queens Blade mainly because I liked her as a housewife in the Rebellion series even though she was not the queen like in the first one. As for dirty old men in anime I tend to like characters like that and am disappointed the principal from To-love Ru isn't on the list. I thought that guy was pretty funny.

This is kind of confusing. Mostly harmless. Does this mean harmless in a sense that none of these old men would acually attempt something bad/are fighting for the good guys (because they are for comedic relief) or that they don't really bother the female characters. List has some powerful old men there yet it is named Mostly Harmless. Isn't the list a bit contradicting the title. Is it sarcasm or a joke of some kind?

My point is that some of these old men aren't exactly harmless. As stated:

The entries on the list start as more or less harmless, weird old dudes before reaching the ultimate pervert fighter senior hybrid.

So why is this list named 7 Mostly Harmless Dirty Old Men?

Maybe I should of added parenthesis or something in the title, it was supposed to mean most of the men on the list are harmless, while a few are actually kinda scary in that they have some powers.

If I remember correctly Russia Sushi (Durarara) had really bad food. So why would anyone want to go there of all restaurants?

For the scenery? Shizuo seemed to hang out there more than at his actual job, and there's always the possibility of a Headless Biker sighting.

You have a point. if it meant possible getting to see Celty then I suppose enduring the bad food would be worth it.

Mew Mew Cafe so low?! You people are crazy.

Anyway, Happosai=I would like to smash him over the head with that boulder he was sealed with. That annoying, perverted... UGH.

Also, I voted for Laharl. Why? He's amazing. And cool. And all the other stereotypical adjectives.

Roshi and Old Man Hino (what I call Rei's grandpa), man they were a riot for the longest time in my 90s anime viewing days. I need to see Happosai in action. Any compilation or "Happosai's funniest moments" videos I can see of him being a total granola bar? Anime hyper

As for the poll, my demon king has to fulfill very specific conditions. Only one of them on that list does, and it's Ryo Utsugi. :3

With Roshi and Happosai, I'd say they're harmless in that they're VERY easily distracted if you know how. (In both cases, it's a matter of bringing a pair of girls' panties or a porn mag or something along those lines.)

This might not work as easily for girls trying to take him down or distract him from themselves, though.

Perverts like Happosai aren't "mostly harmless" to my blood pressure; man they piss me off.

I don't think Happosai was harmless at all; he was pretty harmful to the show he was in!

Eh, I don't know about that. Being a Rumiko Takahashi story, Ranma 1/2 was already a piece of crap. Him being there didn't make it any worse than it already was. He certainly didn't help though, that's for sure.

The best thing about Happosai was how Ranma always got the best of him (usually with just an empty promise or a topless photo), but especially how Cologne could kick his but and remind him that they were once a couple.

Kotoura's granddad creeps me out. Lusting over your own blood is pretty gross. Encouraging her boyfriend in a (mostly) friendly wink-wink, nudge-nudge way is more palatable and funnier by far.

Mostly Harmless, is, of course, the Earth according to the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!

Last Week's Poll: "Russia Sushi: We Usually Don't Serve Human Meat!" What a slogan. OTOH, Antique Bakery has a nice selection of gorgeous looking, mouth watering...cakes. Which is why most ladies would want to dine there! (The bakers are not bad, either. Wink )

This Week's Poll: Yuri or Sadao? One is flushed down a toilet to rule his kingdom, the other runs a fast food restaurant like a boss! Hard choice! Laughing

Grand-daughter. Although he wouldn't mind getting it from a daughter too. Laughing

And Pantyhose Taro.

Seriously, perviness keeps (old) guys powerful. Remember how Tiger Woods lost his powers when he lost his perviness? Laughing

Yep, Happosai would be on the list for the most harmless dirty old man. I had almost forgotten about Edward from Chrono Crusade. Actually in the manga he was a really pain. But harmless is hardly the case if they're grabbing skirts, or trying to get a peek of naked young girls. But how could one not forget Danbei Hayami from Go Nagai's Cutey Honey fame. Of course by the time Flash came around he was on his best behavior. It was in Shin Cutey Honey that he was even more a dirty old man. I often wonder if that was the true depiction of him from the manga that couldn't be shown on TV.
