I much prefer the current situation over the story censorship you're proposing. |
Really? I don't.
It doesn't make sense that in a hentai anime, you can have an orgy of high school girls getting brutally raped, as long as the penises/vaginas are censored.

The really objectionable part of the scenario is that the mosaic's required. The rape orgy's offensive, but it's just a cartoon; banning it because you don't like it is simply antisocial(and banning plots is far more so than banning details).

Not censoring enough? That is one of the stupidest offense ever. I've seen more penis and vagina showing in other hentai and the creators have yet to be arrested.

I don't know about magazines, but the couple of JAVs I've seen had no censorship at all.

There are a number of Japanese adult sites that get around censorship requirements by being incorporated and hosted in the US. But you probably would have noticed the FBI warning and 2257 compliance statements if that's what you saw.

No, these were rips with no subtitles, and the accompanying material is in Japanese. The originals did not appear to come from the US, and they most certainly did not have any FBI warnings.

Those were probably leaked versions of the uncensored footage, usually used for overseas licensing, online or offline. You can see the same for anime. The studios keep the uncensored footage. For those not licensed in the US, I've seen rips of the uncensored versions of hentai shows that are either leaks or intended for German or Spanish, etc markets

"Rape in manga" is not equivocal to the other two things you just mentioned. Real rape is a terrible crime that should never be tolerated, but does unfortunately occur in the real world. Rape in manga is a fictionalized storytelling approach that reflects the real world in that way.
If authors are free to talk about rape in written word format in books, mangaka should be able to illustrate it. It's only fair. Readers may or may not like the results, but forbidding manga from exploring the subject just shows a creative bias against manga.

I just lookt at few scans now and they don´t censor like crazy but the magazines look similar to other hentai offerings. I assume their yaoi tites is what got them under the microscope. Mangaupdates has a list of their magazines.

Pretty much. It'd be annoying if they mosaic'd the entire area. |
It could be worse from recent h-manga releases in the states where they just completely white out the area. |
Someone more familiar with U.S. releases can answer better, but my understanding from the threads on ANN is that recent "h-manga" releases in the U.S. have included a lot of smutty but non-adult manga, stuff that's the manga equivalent of R-rated rather than X-rated. This is stuff running in magazines such as Men's Young that don't have an "adult's only" label on them in Japan. For those, they're whited out to begin with in the Japanese version, so it's not something that was done for the U.S. release specifically. |
Ahh thank you for the clarification i hate spreading mis-information on stuff like this. I was wondering why there was a decent story along with some erotica in the h-manga "colorful harvest" i won in a contest for digital press.

You shouldn't trust Project-H releases at all to actually be eromanga originally (nor DMP's equivalent yaoi/BL line) despite the misleading adult or hentai tag. Some are, but I've noticed a lot aren't.
I think whether or not it has a decent story is independent of it being actually r18 or not though.
