With a "Didn't get what you want for Christmas?" coupon from DDD, I picked up Funimation's upcoming My Hime and My Otome BDs at a good price.
I also finished my Aria backing purchase with Season 2 part 2, Season 3 + OVA and as curiosity always gets the better of me, the guidebook. 2018 funds came earlier than I expected.... |

Packed a shopping bag with most of the singles I got in a $30 Blind Box I bought years ago, my "Requiem for the Phantom" BD set(did not like), My "L/R- 'Licensed by Royalty" DVD set (also pretty poor), my "Girl who Leapt Through Time" DVD (upgraded to BD) and a 1st half Honey & Clover HK quasi-bootleg DVD set (bought legit) and traveled to 2nd & Charles to trade for pennies on the dollar and clear up some needed room for my shelves.
Enough to pay for a MSRP priced copy of Barakamon BD/DVD combo set. Also picked up K-on! #1 manga cheaply (which I read while waiting for them to price my return) Also picked up an old ADV set from a Goodwill- Blue Seed, The Perfect Collection(DVD). Ironically, in relation to my goal of making up shelf space, this is one of those notoriously thick combo packs that were so common 15-20 years ago. 2 1/2 times as thick as the Barakamon set, containing as many discs.Still, good buy for $4. A couple days ago I also bought the old Excel Saga ADV singles for the third time. The first set I bought new but were lost in my infamous DVD robbery, The second I also got off of Ebay but it took me 6 months to notice 3 of the cases were empty ( I guess I only opened one disc when I got it). This time I found a Buy it now price for all six cheaper than buying the three missing ones separately. Why not the Funimation set? Anyone with familiarity understands- those ADVidnotes pop-ups are awesome. [edit in Saturday] Another day, another Thrift Store, another old bulky ADV collection. This time for Princess Nine (bought on a BOGO deal with The complete Adventures of Brisco County Jr.) |
