last week rightstuf had a funi sale. from that, I got
Sankarea Rage of Bahamut ReLife LE Orange LE AoT Jr High LE. At the time, I didn't realize that I already have a copy. By the time I remembered, the stuff already shipped. At least it was only $35 |

Soooo about this purchase: I did buy the one set from an eBay seller, and as expected, they were the official sets, all shrink-wrapped...but at least a third of all of the collective disks were scratched to hell in a way I've never seen from a new-in-package release. They weren't loose or anything, either: it looks like the backing of the opposite disk's spindle is what did it, at least for some of them, but they're held snugly enough that I can't see how they'd spin that much and under enough pressure to do that sort of damage. The worst part is that the scratches are all circular, and a few are deep enough that at least one of the disks was noticeably skipping after a few minutes of jumping between chapters. I feel like they'd probably be salvageable with a DVD repair kit, but I don't have one on-hand, and at the end of the day I shouldn't have to do this on brand-new disks. I swear I'm always buying stuff that winds up having weird issues. So long story short? I found the only other listing for a similar price and re-bought the whole series. If this new one's good I can return the previous one, but if its disks are scratched up too, I guess I'll have to take the best of the two as I'm able. This sucks.

Alongside my copy of Anonymous Noise that came in the mail today, I got the latest copy of Rightstuf's shopping catalog that came with a scratch-off for a discount I could get. Winded up getting a 10% discount I could use, so used it toward snagging Batman Ninja on DVD.

Just took notice that Funimation has their August pre-order slate up. So just went and bought up a few titles of interest on Rightstuf that include...
Tsuredere Children Planetarium ONAs + Movie Classroom of the Elite Not all that has my interest in the August slate as Gamers and Sakura Quest have my interest as well. But I'm gonna need to replenish my Paypal account as August is looking to be a costly month for me thanks to Funimation. |

That made me look twice at the catalogue and I too got a ten percent off coupon. Still, I've never used one of their coupons as the restriction put on them..."*coupon can't be stacked with other offers"... makes them invalid for bargain hunters like myself. Ebay gave me a coupon as well, one for ten dollars off for anything with no restrictions beyond the fact that I had to spend 30 in one purchase. So I finally got a copy of Future Diary + OVA collection, new.... and that may even be true! I'm not counting on it but stranger things have happened... with free shipping at the price I wanted to pay even before the coupon. |
