out of curiosity (and totally not the fact that i just watched endless waltz again...) what is you're favorite mobile suit, and why?
i like (and have since i saw the movie for the first time two years ago) the wing zero. For one, it looks insanley cool. The wings = win. For two, although not the strongest, it was most deff. not weak!
(please note i didn't intend this to b specific to that movie, just mobile suits spanning each and every gundam series. that way, i dont think we'll be seeing **too many** deathscyths....)

I'm not sure if you're asking what my favourite Gundam-type MS is or what my favourite MS of any type is. Either way:
Gundam:
Zeta Gundam (It's still surprisingly formula-breaking even after all these years...Waverider Mode, a great arsenal and brilliant paintjob make it one of the best.)
Hi-Nu Gundam (The last, great, true successor to the original RX-78-2. And it doesn't disappoint.)
Gundam Airmaster Burst (Dual-Wielding, Transforming and Speedy.)
Gundam Virsago Chest Break (Strike Claws, 3-Barrel Megasonic Cannon and a unique "V"-Fin to top off its overall demonic appearance.)
Gundam Ashtaron Hermit Crab (A really unique Gundam in terms of design...the Atomic Scissors Claws are great. And the Beam Crossbow!)
Mobile Suit:
Gyan (It's a Knight!)
Gelgoog (The first Mass-Produced Suit truly capable of taking on a Gundam.)
Messala (Quick, Large and Powerful...plus it's a Transforming MS built on Jupiter.)
Gaplant (A Transforming, flying MS capable of taking on the titular Gundam of its Series. And Winning.)
Byalant (One of the very few Mobile Suits in its area capable of sustained atmospheric flight. Where did it go, anyway?)
Quin Mantha (The lovechild of the Psyco Gundam Mk II & the Qubeley. Need I say more?)
Jagd Doga (One of those oddball designs that really doesn't have precent or a successor. Plus...Mega Gatling Gun & Beam Assault Rifle.)
Nightingale (Char's biggest and best MS, finally something that a Newtype like him deserves.)
Bertigo (After War Qubeley...with Bits! 'Nuff Said.)
Crouda (A Mass-Produced "grunt" that's just as tough as any unique Gundam in the Series.)
And can I include another category?
Mobile Fighter:
Gundam Rose (Napoleon Hat & Mobile Weapons...along with a Chevalier.)
Kowloon Gundam (Hong Kong. Master Asia. Need I say more?)
Ashura Gundam (6 Arms and the ability to Separate + Transform.)
There's tons of others, but those always stick out in my mind...

Hey super arrow, you might want to put a few words of explanation lest you want your post to be deleted
Favorite gundam for me:
The Gundam X, from After War Gundam X
That thing is hot, firstly, the design is just beautiful. The cross in the background that can expand to a full X, and with everything stowed, it just makes a full cross. The most awesome image I remember of it is of the Gundam X hovering on the surface of a lake.

I'll roll with Death Scyth from Wing... cause I'm all about close combat. The Scyth is also my second favorite weapon in the entire universe.

I love the Heavyarms, because what could be better than a crushing amount of fire power

That be the sword, mostly curved blades like a scimatar, but I haven't seen any Gundams with swords that I like except maybe the Destiny.
I'm not to much f a gundam fan so I haven't seen many only seen SEED, DESTINY, Wing, Endless Waltz, 08th MS team(probably favorite), and some of MS Gundam. I'm gonna start on 0083 Stardust memory soon.

Well there's Minaret Gundam which-as its name implies-uses Minaret Scythes as its primary weapon.
Too bad that it was only in 1 Episode.

Beat me to it. My favorite is also Gundam Heavyarms Custom. I never really liked the one from regular G-Wing but in Endless Waltz he got a complete overhaul which made him look bad-ass. He was also my favorite MS in Gundam Battle Assault 2 back in the day so that might be an even greater reason why he came to mind when I first heard this question. It looks even better in Red.
I don't think it counts as a Gundam, I think, but the Zaku II has always been one of my favorite Gundam models.

Zeta Gundam. Admittedly, this is more because I would always turn it into an unhittable weapon of doom in Super Robot Wars than anything to do with the actual series, though Zeta is my favorite Gundam series as well.

0083 is pretty good. Unit 3 is beautiful, you'll see when you watch it. It's too bad you don't get to see unit 3 in its pure form for very long, though.
Out of all the universal century gundams, I liked stardust memory the most, with the exception maybe of sidestory, but that's mostly because its focus was so different.

I hated Gundam GP03, I think thats his code. They just kept him in that stupid armor thing the whole time he actually fought. GP02, now there is an awesome Gundam. 0083 is my favorite "short story" so far.

Take Unit 3 out of its mobile armor thingy, though, and it was just beautiful.
Sticking it in there made it hideous. Too bad you only get to see it in its pure form for only a few moments at the very end.
It's too bad we never saw its standalone battle potential, those arms would've been quite a unique feature at the time.

I dunno, personally I found the Dendrobium Orchis to be quite impressive. Much more streamlined and capable than other supplemental units of its type (G-Armor, METEOR, etc.), and it did an excellent job of exemplifying the raw power it brought to bore. It was big and bulky, but quite nimble, and impressively destructive, in my opinion. Though that's not to detract from the Dendrobium Stamen though, which I agree was perhaps the best standalone Gundam design of that series.
