Thanks for your input. Any other selected terminology you want to be incorrect about? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dōjinshi http://en.glosbe.com/en/en/doujinshi http://www.wordnik.com/words/doujinshi |

I always thought the preferred wording was "I have no recollection of that, Senator."
"It wasn't me. You can't prove anything." "How do you think we found you in the first place?" "Oh..." |

No they are any self published works. I have seen dojinshi camera manuals, travel guides, books of cosplay photos etc. |

Is dojinshi considered manga? I always thought that dojinshi, is separate from manga. Manga is usually longer, and it is legal.
Am I wrong in this thinking, is manga and dojinshi interchangeable terms? Just seems weird to me, for them to use both terms in the article. I can understand why they would arrest him for having uploaded manga on his website, in violation of copyright laws, but not for having uploaded dojinshi. |

Technically, the full term is manga doujinshi i.e. self-published manga. Doujinshi/doujin just means self-published, but it picks up other qualifications in certain context so it can be used interchangeably when context is established. Even though there are also many other forms like game doujinshi (fighting games, VNs, etc), because doujinshi are most often associated with manga, and probably used the most for manga, I think it's assumed to refer to manga doujins when used without other qualifications |

When I see a fan-made 18+ yaoi doujinshi featuring Germany & Italy from "Hetalia", to me that's an adult-themed parody. That's just how my mind works sometimes. |

Yeah....except for the fact that the term "doujinshi" features and encompasses all-ages, non-18+ works as well (in fact, the majority of doujinshi produced IS all-ages). Guess you don't get away from the universe that is the internet very often, do you? Last edited by Shiratori1 on Thu Sep 05, 2013 10:32 am; edited 1 time in total |

-Facepalm- NO! Doujins are fan-made manga made by fans. And not all of them are porn. Some of the doujins i seen and like are safe for work and are mostly fanart, fanfic manga, crossovers, parodies or 4komas. Please explain carefully or you might give people the wrong impression. |

It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing. There are facts. You are just very misinformed about what doujinshi actually is. I hope people managed to clear that up for you.
