I'd have to say Slave Market. Although you get some toture stuff in there the art is beautiful, the stories are very interesting, the VAing is pretty good and the music . . . is really sad. Also check out Countdown: Akira Complex I believe. No rape or bondage, just a good story. Check up on it, it contains BEAUTIFUL artwork stills.
On a side note Wet Summer Days does have HIGHLY pedolicious content. |

Yeah, that's a good one. Didn't go over the top with either plot or arousal. Except the ugly manservant creeped me out and there was some loli content (I skipped that part).
Yeah, it's from a game that tries to be the same way. I guess it has to appeal to some kind of audience. While the main purpose probably is "stroke factor," some people like these types of plots with it, so they can enjoy it both ways.
That's definitely true in a live-action, but hentai can have surprisingly good plots (better than many "regular" animes). It's true that people don't watch hentai for the plot, but if done right, plot can support "arousal" quite a bit. Especially when it interests someone enough to not skip right to the sex scenes.
It definitely appeals to and arouses some people. Just as there's people who do enjoy rape scenes (I'm not one of them), there are people who enjoy this kind of melancholy atmosphere.
Some hentais do spend all the money on the sex scenes, and appeals to a certain type of audience. Others focus on story, and appeals to a different type of audience. Certain types of hentai appeal to certain audiences. People watch mecha anime for the fights and the action (probably), but there might be some fanservice because to some people enjoy the anime more that way.
Go for it, you might just take the prize

That's not a very helpful description since hentai with teachers are dime a dozen. BTW you don't think futanari rape is nasty? One oldie but surprisingly good hentai people could try is Kodomo no Jikan. Basically three boys are left with a babysitter. Rather than taking her orders they truss her up. Turns out she's weak for bondage games so we get to follow her adventures with the boys for seven episodes. The first episodes are really hot but then it gets kinda samey. Sadly Kodomo no Jikan doesn't reach a proper conclusion. For that you would have to read the third volume of the manga that I think the hentai is based on. Since you're likely to only find the shoujo manga with the same title I'll provide a spoiler[: The twist at the end is that the leader of the trio used to be in love with another girl who was also into bondage. She left and he was gutted. So now he's taking out his frustrations on the babysitter whom he is also starting to feel attracted to. With her help he eventually finds inner peace and everything is peachy... Oh, what's that? Did they do what? Oh that? What I'd really like to see is a properly done Shoujo drama with a fully developed romance that includes hentai scenes. For example episode 18 of Kare Kano had a short sequence that was far from explicit but that was far more arousing to me than some generic sex scene with characters who are just sex machines. I'm a sappy, hentai loving guy...if anyone can combine these two parts of a story well its some anime studio. All over the internet people you can find so caled 'celebrity' hentai vids and images, I find those infinitely more arousing than generic anime girl #55463. Perhaps some pioneering hentai dude will team up with a great romance writer...hey it could even be less than that, do a harem as normal with all the sexual innuendo and whatnot and let it develop as one forgoing the hentai until later episodes or including just the nudity for a while before finally leaping into the sex at later stages. It would work best as an OVA or even go as far as a short series(13 eps or so). That would give hentai a real shot in the arm.

I'm not sure this is truly a Hentai recommendation, but Sailor Moon and the Seven BallZ is one of the funniest things I've seen in the past year. It might have been because I ingested a good liter of French wine prior to viewing - but it really was a 'so-bad-it's-good' title. Assuming that is permissible in this topic of course.

This wish isn't new- a lot of guys have wanted that in live-action shows over the years. The problem is that, if the story is good enough to qualify for a regular movie or series, then it's more profitable to make it that way, rather than incorporate the adult scenes and have it stuck in the Adult section. The closest that has come to your wish so far, to my knowledge, is Kite and Mezzo Forte, where they added the explicit scenes after initially releasing a clean version, and re-released the films as hentai to try and snap up some additional revenue. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the industry will reply here on the chances of that happening with a series. As for recommendations, get Sex Warrior Pudding! It was mentioned in another thread awhile back, and it is indeed both hilarious and arousing. I haven't checked, but it looked to be in the same style as Viper GTS, which earned a Rentable rating from Bamboo last year, which is equivalent to a Best Picture nomination as far as hentai go. |

Wasn't Green Green 13: Erolutions (OVA) something along these lines? I can't say I don't watch hentai for the emotional stimulation, but I prefer it 500% over live-action stuff with no story whatsoever. |

I would also add that Sex Friends (released in the States as Sexfriend) is one of the very few hentai titles out there which actually has an English dub worth a listen. There's a little bit of bondage in it but it's otherwise one of the least fetish-oriented titles out there.
If you want a title utterly free of weird stuff and containing only straight emotion-laden sex, check out Virgin Touch, which is about a fledgling doctor working at a health clinic who basically uses sex to help the female patients. Only two sex scenes per episode for each of its two episodes, but they're linked together by plot and (gasp!) actual character development. It even gets genuinely sad at a couple of points. Pretty good artistry and animation, too, though not on the level of a Bible Black. If your tastes head towards sadistic stuff then Oni-Tenshi is one not to be missed. Great production values, lots of sex, and a real story with a somewhat compelling conclusion. No tentacles, but this is a pretty cruel series loaded with rapes and other sexually-oriented violence. And I agree with comments others have made about putting too much emphasis on story in a true hentai title. The only approach that works on this (or live-action porn, for that matter) are cases like Kite and Mezzo Forte, where the sex scenes are rare highlights thrown in rather than the focus of the story. |

Key, I'm a little surprised to see you posting here.  Not as surprised as I would be if Zac posted, though.
As far as dubs, you ought to dl Teacher's Pet just to listen to for a little while. I swear that is the worst dub I have ever heard. The voices seem similar to ones in other hentai, but their delivery.... OTOH, I liked what the VA did in La Blue Girl, giving her a Valley accent. There was a title I watched last year named Magical Twilight, I think, which was similar in tone to Virgin Touch. There is another one out there simply titled Campus which is good, though I have only seen the first volume. I also checked out some of the titles others have mentioned here, and Jiburiru is a nice one. It's funny and sweet, to an extent, and though it has tentacles the tone of the show isn't harsh or ugly at all, though the first minute of ep 1 might seem that way. On Bible Black, the prelude, entitled Origins, is, I think, worth watching simply as a horror story. It's that rare title that you can watch either way. The other chapters had a lot more preverted and/or forced sex, and the story wasn't as good either. |

I am curious to know exactly what qualifies more for a good hentai in someone's opinion. (nonsarcasm) Would having great sex scenes in the series be placed ahead of diaolague and such or is it vice versa? I would think that after watching hentai for years the story would be placed ahead of the sex, but who can tell? Would the story take a backseat to the "innerventions" or creativism (trying not to get to graphic here)? Because I watch action anime and sometimes I place the action ahead of the story itself. ("Who cares if the writing sucks, they fought with their swords flaming blue!!!") And other times the story far precedes the action (Bourne Supremacy) so I'm just wondering.

Just curious, does ecchi go under the heading of hentai, its' own, or what?
IMO Bible Black had the worst dub of anything I have ever seen in my life, in any language. And that isn't the worst? Good grief! I may have watched the last. I mean when you see some young lady sounding like Scatman Crothers, it just ain't working, you know? |
