Just because a show is dubbed doesn't mean you are forced to watch it. The subtitled track will still be available. Let's also not forget that for every dub you don't like, there are plenty of people that do enjoy it. We all have dubs that we dislike, but others like.

Ignoring the part of your statement that is taken right out of A Dub Apologist's Guide on How to Defend Dubs, if you think that there are not any possible negative ramifications for slapping dubs on niche series, then you are either incredibly naive or incredibly selfish. Rolling Eyes

I can't tell if you're being facetious or truthful, but the only negative to dubs is a higher cost for the boxset, but even that's not always uniform when NISA can be more expensive than Sentai.

I never said there were no negative ramifications for dubbing a niche series. However, I believe your comment was the selfish one as you would wish everyone to be denied something just because you MAY not like it. To me, that is a text book definition of selfishness.

There are plenty of shows that I hate the dubs for, but I wouldn't wish them to be released sub-only, as there are people out there that do like them. Everybody has different tastes. That's just the way the world works.

Really, the only major negative ramification I can see, is the company potentially losing money on dubbing the show. This could cause them to be more leery of licensing similar titles in the future, or at least more cautious about dubbing them.

True, the dub could turn out to be bad and that could turn some viewers off, but that possibility is out there for any show, niche or main stream.

The MSRP increases slightly as well, but no one is forcing you to buy it. In this case, Maria-holic is streaming on several sites and most of the episodes are available for free. And as I said before, no one is forcing you to listen to the dub. Both audio tracks will be available, so just pick the one you like and allow others to do the same.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of anime "fans" like you, who think their opinions are shared by everyone else out there, and anyone who may disagree must obviously be wrong.

Cut the attitude and snide remarks. If people like dubs then that is their right and as a poster on these forums you need to start being respectful towards other peoples opinions rather than treat people like **** just because they have a preference that you don't. Either make a point with your post (which you fail to do) or don't post, but posts that are made just so you can make snide underhanded remarks to berate other posters are unnecessary.
