Best news of the day.

Here's to hoping for a fan-service heavy Taiga-sama ED sequence.

Clearly my fujoshi sisters are voting, hence Blue Rose's spot.

It's a show targeting fujoshi so of course Blue Rose is last.

I don't think so. T&B have a much wider appeal than just fujoshi. Anime geared towards fujoshi typically don't do well enough to be featured at TAF & get two feature films even before the series ends. If it were exclusively targetted towards them, Kotetsu & Barnaby would be idols with a 'secret' identity which they can only reveal to their true love, Blue Rose, who is the same vanilla waif that every other reverse harem show employs.

And anime that are not geared toward fujoshi don't typically have 8500+ BL doujins (5200 of those being adult only).

So wait, the voting is for who would star in the film's finale...

...and the winner and runner up are...the title characters?

....you'd think they'd be in the film's finale anyway...

Doujinka will pervert any concept if it's popular enough. Death Note wasn't marketed towards fujoshi, but yet there's a plethora of doujinshi available featuring all sorts of L & Light pairings. Same thing with Blue Exorcist, Bleach & Naruto. None of these are the reverse harem stories that are popular with fujoshi, and yet there's countless straight, yuri & BL doujinshi simply because there's a fanbase willing to buy these products. Same thing with anime such as Hakuoki & UtaPri - lots of BL doujinshi exist.

Point being, if there's an audience for it (and money to be made), doujinshi will be created irregardless of the audience the anime/manga was originally targetting.

My point isn't that they exist, that's obvious and I hope anybody with a brain and a grasp of the industry could get that. My point was that they exist to such a massive extent. None of the titles you listed come even close to the amount of BL doujins that Tiger & Bunny has, and those titles have had far longer and more Comikets to do so.

One wonders if she's going to do anything useful or end up as a background character.

There are only around 1250 Naruto doujins period, without even filtering for BL. That's 15% of the amount of BL doujins that Tiger & Bunny has.

Get the picture?

Where are these numbers even coming from? Do you spend your time counting each and every single one from all of the comikets and other places?

Nope. There's an online database that does that already. I can't link it here for obvious reasons, but if you want the link then I can PM it to you.

Come on now. If you're referring to the doujinshi database that I think you are -- and I'm fairly certain you are, because the numbers match up -- it is by no means even close to an exhaustive list of doujinshi, even for very recent publications and active circles. What shows up there reflects the interests of the contributors, not the total number of doujinshi ever published for a fandom. Confused

Also, there are doujinshi from all genres there -- it's not just a BL database, so you can't throw them all in one category like that.
