I wonder if the first series of Naruto isn't doing as well as Toonami would hope, and that's why they decided to air Shippuden instead. I admit, I'm not watching Naruto on Saturdays (my roommates dislike the show, so I'm kinda outvoted 3:1 about watching it; ah well), so I don't know how the numbers are. But last I knew, they were still airing the Chunin Exams (from the episode I was able to catch a bit of), so why cut it off in the middle of a large arc? Or even, at all, at least until the canon episodes are done?

...Or to Episode 140. I really liked the little filler arc with Kabuto. XP

Ah well... as strange as this move is, hopefully it works out for Toonami.

Naruto has actually been doing very well on Toonami. It can get million ratings on any given week, faring very well leading out from Bleach, and it usually doesn't lose more than 100K viewers. Not bad for a show that's more than 10 years old that most faithful have already seen. Here's hoping Shippuden can make things even better.

The current manga arc, that's why.

With as many episodes as Shippuden has, I wouldn't begrudge them moving to double up per night. It would still take at least 4-5 years, which is likely longer than they would be willing to put up with it before moving it out into IY territory anyhow.

So the lights at the end of the tunnel for Bleach. I guess I'm just getting bored of Jump anime because I basically wait for Soul Eater. Sometimes I tune into One Piece, but eh...

Am I the only one that remembers that Cartoon Network did the EXACT SAME THING?

They yanked the edited episodes of Naruto with less than a dozen episodes left during their original run.

I've had no desire to rewatch the show edited or not, but COME ON. Burn them off daily before moving on to NS.

People still watch anime on TV? Laughing

wait, aren't you usually the person who's happy with stuff being cut or not released at all in the US? Anyways, it should probably be celebrated for the fact that any show at all remains uncut in the first place, which is still pretty rare for Toonami.

I have one thing to say about this: Oh god. I've been following NS since 2007 fansubbed, and knowing how bad the dub is (I mean 'dattebayo' becoming 'Believe it!'? Puhlease.. >_>) I wont' be watching. I don't have cable so that helps. Razz

Another uneducated dub hater. Where have you been? Naruto hasn't said "Believe it" since season 1.

I really doubt they'll double it up. They didn't do it for One Piece and they don't really seem to care how far behind the JP broadcast they are.

Also, they would never move a premiere way back into InuYasha's slot. Even when Tenchi Muyo GXP got the boot they only kicked it back about half-way through the block. The last half of the block will likely stay purely reruns.

Uncut great I have been watching it on HULU and I am into the seventh season. I wonder why Disney Anime hyper drop broadcasting it in the first place it beats the junk they replace I with it with. Very Happy

Yay! Naruto Shippuden dubbed and uncut on TV.

Sadly, dub-haters are going to start acting like bigger bitches than they are.
