True but then I think you're being too strict. 3-4 shows is a whole lot of one very specific type. I mean, do you see that many of any other specific type of show? Plus, there are also another dozen shows which while admittedly not "moe only", do indeed heavily incorporate moe as a core element. I don't know if you want to call those moeblob or not but clearly these are still shows that heavily utilize moe. (Vastly more so than any of your examples). Where as I count a total of three Scifi shows of any type and one of those itself looks to be heavily moe (and another looks like a generic kid's show).

But 3-4 shows out of 25 shows is still fairly low. I'm going to agree with Emerje about moe it has always existed. Given that I have no problems with moe or moeblobs I don't really see a problem with it.

They didn´t even make out!

And the funny thing is that title is one of the longest running Yuri Hime titles.

summer anime/drama lineups are always weak because most people don't watch TV during that time. Summer is about anime movie. We will see many top tier anime in fall.

One thing I can count on each an every season are the messages from folks stating their disappointment in the new season. Smile

That said, in my discussions with llamaben over on CR this morning, we agreed it appears CR should have at least 9 new simulcasts for Summer 2011, and these were his picks:

Natsume Yuujin-Chou San
Yuruyuri
Kamisama Dolls
Dantalian no Shoka
R-15
Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi
Manyuu Hikenchou
Nekogami Yaoyorozu
Mawaru Penguin Drum

Except for the last two, these are either TV Tokyo series, or appear to be handled by Kadokawa, so those could be classified as "high probability". (Actually, I think Natsume could be classified as "slam dunk").

Wasn't Natsume one of their first simulcasts when they went legal? If Brain Base thought back then that a simulcast would be a good idea then it's hard to imagine that this installment wouldn't get a simulcast as well. Fingers crossed that Penguindrum especially gets on since it feels like one of those titles where fansubs would take forever to get released and I'm impatient. Has anyone done that "search the web pages and see what comes up" trick yet to make a guess at the simulcasts?

Natsume was actually under the umbrella of Crunchyroll's agreement with TV Tokyo.

It appears the first episodes were added 01/12/2009, which was a week after the second series premiered. The beginning of that year was indeed when CR went legit.

On the web pages front, nothing at this point, and no leaks yet. Either Crunchyroll is getting better with security, or they have no signed contracts in hand for Summer 2011 yet. If it is the latter, something might turn up early next week.

@Gia Manry
R-15 is likely a reference to the doujin rating system. Some of the lighter erotica and soft core porn falls under this rating with Doujinshi. Not everything warrants a R18.

For the person who mentioned Panty & Stocking 2:

Keep an eye out during Fall Announcements. Gainax usually has their attention on ONE show a season, along with their attention on all the Eva projects. Also, it's rare for second seasons to air that quickly. They usually wait a year or more.

Sooooooooo no Full Metal Panic, Haruhi, HOTD, Initial D, Lucky Star, Spice and Wolf, Seikishi, B Gata H Kei, or Tsubasa+Holic? Noooooooo, its not like these series are left hanging or anything........

Just take your time japan..... ¬_¬

Full Metal Panic - Non Sure. These two seasons, there hasn't really been any mecha (Super Robot or Real type). Studios will likely make their move when the Fall anouncements are made. They're going against Gundam AGE and Gundam Origins. Not exactly the best time to compete for viewings or even merchandise. Merchandising playing a big part. The companies are going to stick to producing what they know sells (no matter how old the series is) and that is Gundam

Haruhi: you have to admit they shot themselves in the foot with the Endless Eight. On top of that, the best we could get from the novels right now is an OVA or two. Wait for the latest one to be released and see what happens. Also the latest volumes are all part of the same story arc. Definite chance for an OVA collection or tv series

B Gata H Kei: Ending was concrete. spoiler[She finally went out with the guy cause she fell in love, not because she wanted laid]

Spice and Wolf: Still being released. Series is being released rather fast when you think about it. Latest volumes seem to come from the same arc.

Tsubasa/xxxHolic: Unless a deal is struck between the studios who animated them (they were done by different anime studios), don't expect anything other than that studios ending.

a smaller role as a fox demon in Nurarihyon no Mago: Sennen Makyō

That role is probably more important than any other role she has this season that isn't a lead role. She's voicing the Shishio/Aizen/Orochimaru equivalent of Nuraihyon no Mago... which in some ways is even better than scoring the lead imo... and that character was popular in the Character polls for Mago in WSJ... especially considering when the poll took place.

1st - Nura Rikuo (Youkai) - 2562
2nd - S. C. Nurarihyon (Past) - 1210
3rd - Yuki Onna (Oikawa Tsurara) - 1202
4th - Hagoromo gitsune (Present) - 1154

Might as well swap out Aya Hirano's mention on VAs as well, anyone watching Mago 2 to hear her voice is going to be disappointed lol, her character is irrelevant to say the least, she got a good run in the first season with all those padded scenes.

Seems like I'm gonna like most of these, even though I always watch at least the first episode of even the shows I don't think will be interesting anyway...

Natsume Season 3, all the way. And that's about it.

...Well, maybe No. 6 if I hear good things from reviewers, or from forumers whose opinions I tend to respect.

But mostly just Natsume and the second half of Tiger & Bunny. Two concurrent anime series are pretty much the maximum I can handle with my drama-viewing habits anyway so that works out well. Laughing

Hmm... I'm going to guess the next "big thing" in anime will be comedy. I've been seeing more and more comedy/bizarre gimmick type shows each season lately (Nyanpire, Baka to test, etc), and it does seem like a natural offshoot of the cute girls doing cute things-now cute girls can do bizarre, funny things. Plus it fits with the "I just got off of work and now I want to watch something to relax" demographic that moe hits so well, without so much of the creepy baggage.
