This is pretty damn well in-line with Go Nagai's sense of humor, so I don't see what the complaining is about. And today's Japanese kids have absolutely no interest in stuff like Mazinger Z. It's aimed squarely at old-school super robot/Go Nagai fans and Moe fans.
I'm actually really excited to see what they're gonna do with Gecchan. I'm sure they'll just stay within the realm of the Toei anime, but I'd like to see them touch on the general insanity of Getter's other incarnations. |
