Excellent news! I love this manga. I hope they stick to the story and don't try too much original anime stuff.

It's about time they announced one. Hopefully it gets done by a decent studio.

It's portrayed in an artistic and forgivable way though, the gore is there to stir the emotions of the reader not grotesque them.

Too me it looks pretty grotesque. Made my stomach turn when I looked at some pictures. I'm really bad with mindless gore. That's just how I am.

I still remember there was this one shota who peeled off the faces of live people for fun.

I'd think something like that would only stir the stomachs of most rather than their emotions.

Sounds interesting and it looks like it's getting a lot of positive reactions for an anime adaptions. Guess I better start reading the manga and wait for further news about this.

If that's not mindless then I don't know what.

this can give them a chance to fix a lot of the flaws in the manga, and actually expand on the things they set up but never follow through with

I'm curious, which part are you referring to Question

for starters they can actually give the empire a name. i always felt that they focus more on killing characters then actually making characters or anything else. and then they say things to make it sad like a monologue before they die. and then they're rarely (if ever) mentioned again

also some scenes have potential but are never followed up on, like spoiler[wave saying how he has to tell bohrs family that he's dead. that scene never happens, we never see the family again, it's never mentioned again]. there were a few scenes like that. also, the over use of shock factor early on in an attempt to look REALISTIC.

i always felt that it was trying to be more then the author was really capable of doing and became very childish and immature for something with the themes that it has

it'll stir the wrong type of emotions. though looking back when i was a kid, I would misinterpret scenes like that as being mature and grown up. then i read game of thrones

This is great news! I love Akame ga Kill. One of the few series where almost none of the characters have plot armor, and yet the author also avoids the opposite of that ... killing them for stupid/pointless reasons.

Another upside: Seems they toned down the brightness on the character design colors for the anime, which is a good thing. I was always bothered by how radioactive-bright the cover art looked for the manga.

Funny timing too, as I just got Vol 7 and 8 of the manga in the mail too.

If you want mindless gore porn watch md geist or read mahou shoujo of the end, you will instantly know the difference.
The gore in akame ga kill is still portrayed in a way where you're connected with the person who meets there cruel fate. Not where you're cringing and on the brink of throwing up while being emotionally involved. There's different scenarios but you should get the picture.

Well, it would be a pretty f'cked up world if everyone had the same opinion on mindless. And Akame is not porn right?
