It was further stated that Shirou Emiya will play a more central role in the new series and some of the characters' outfits will also be modernized from their original designs.

If MALs article is true, then screw you Ufotable. I don't want a filler FSN anime. I want a remake.

/a/ says that it's FSN adapted as a sequel to Zero. They're keeping it close to the VN, making it "more serious" like Zero and Nasu is supervising. So anything new is probably coming from Nasu himself.

So it will continue original content?

Guess we'll have to wait and see till Fall..
Just a few more months to go. I think a new PV might be out later.

Here's some more info.
Quote:
– The Fate/Stay Night anime series is due Fall 2014
– The director is Takahiro Miura (the guy who directed Kara no Kyoukai’s 6th film)
– Character designs are done by Tomonori Sudo, Hisayuki Tabata, and Atsushi Ikariya.
– Half the scenario is completed.
– Voice recording began Fall 2013.
– Some episodes have already been completed.
– They’re doing an original route with this adaption. The original content is done by Nasu.
– There are new costume designs – modern casual wear for Shirou and Rin and some jacket for casual Saber.
– The atmosphere will be serious, similar to Fate/Zero, but will have some comical moments.
– Fans will feel the connection to Fate/Zero.
– They want to portray Shirou properly as a main character.

I wished they'd release a little bit more information about the content...but oh well, they are slowly building up their hype train; which will undoubtedly be huge 6 months from now when the show actually airs.

But 6 months does seem so long from now... Sad

I also want a remake. I liked some parts of the Fate/stay night anime, but I would have truly enjoyed it if it was as smartly written and produced as Fate/Zero.

Well, I'd watch whatever they produce regardless of "original" or "remake" status. It's bound to be a better production that the previous DEEN attempts.

Thanks for the update ANN...now I just need to stop myself from watching this subbed/raw, lol.

(I was able to patiently wait for both UBW movie's and F/Z TV's dubs)

New costumes?
More Saber Figma's incoming.

Seriously though, Lancer needs new duds. That all blue outfit has always held him back from being an interesting character.

I have no idea why they didn't have kate higgins reprise her role as saber for the unlimited blade works, but the odds for the new series are slim. i have a feeling they might use the VA from the type zero series.

well the new dub casting wlll definitely be interesting to debate , but i and a lot of the dubbers wont have a beef along as they allow steaphie seph to reprise as illya and especially liam o brien as archer who everyone agrees is the stand alone performance from the old FSN series which was why sentai brought him back for unlimited blade works.

Curious on how they'll approach this. Hopefully they'll not make Shirou come across as an unfortunate sexist prick.

HIGHLY UNLIKELY! there is no way their gonna make him just like makoto from school days. the chances are they might make his character either similar to the novels or to the type-moon game.

I will not watch a remake.

Bad news to all the haters. like it or not, shirou is gonna be the main protagonist character for this new series cause if they change him, they would have to change archer too. alongs as they have him like in unlimited blade works , i doubt anyone would complain.

If it's true that they're making it a sequel to F/Z rather than just remaking the original anime, hey, I'm totally fine with that.
Just doing HF wouldn't have cut it, there's too much crap from F/Z that'd go unresolved otherwise. I'll miss Black Saber though.

Not a real Type Moon fan and quite hated the original stay night anime. That said I really enjoyed Fate/Zero and if this version is more in line with that one I'll be very happy. Here's to hoping it's good.

If an original route means we'll get some Lord El-Melloi II, then I'm hyped.
