I'm guessing the other 3 will pilot a pink mech, a blue mech, and a yellow mech respectively as well, right?

The only way they can screw this up is if they give the female characters minor roles.
We need more mecha where female characters play big roles.

Let's hope so. The most ideal situation is everyone gets their moment to shine and develop equally.

Agreed. I hope so too.

Hopefully it's promising that they are in pilot suits too there now on the main image.

Oh dear. Truth's here to ruin the anime again.

Haha, I thought he looked like him too.

Well I'm excited! This series looks like it will be fantastic, I hope its at least 2 cours long, preferably more though! I need a longer mecha series!

This! I really hope so too, this looks great.

Probably because it is a Bones show about robots, which never really works out well.

BONES mecha is usually their strongest suit. Look at RahXephon, Eureka Seven, and Xam'd. Science Fiction is their specialty.

Yup. Love their scifi and mecha.

I want to trust BONES, but reading the premise leads me to believe this is Generic Anime Character Archetypes: The Show X

Another Shonen mech anime, where the main character will win because "feeling" and stuff, where he's the only one who can pilot the super mech despite being pretty close to the worst possible candidate.

Bones make great stories with beautiful art, but damn there main character poison there show, I still haven't forgotten Renton for ruining E7. I just want a seinen mech show :***(

Oh well I'll probably watch it for the mech porn and skip the human parts.

I'm suddenly flashing back to the utterly execrable last 25% of Blue Gender, a show that had mechs and was honestly describable as "The environment is comin' to get you and gives you 2 choices: live like despicable hippies in a cultish commune or eat the giant pink laser beam of planetary vengeance".

Sad

I despised that ending. This is a joke referencing Captain Planet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmypHQ5AUxQ

Agreed, sick of shounen male mecha. Why not shounen mecha with a female lead?

There was Majestic Prince, but that was one of your more typical mixed sexes with a dude still in the lead. I can't say that many female-led mecha anime pop into mind, they're either all or seemingly all female pilots like Gunbuster, or a guy is always in charge and the series mostly centers around his angst. Watching the preview, there's not really much to suggest this will do anything different.

Am I the only one who notices they basically cribbed their own designs for Heroman for the robo?

Not that I'm complaining, I love that color scheme and design, but still. Dredges up my desire for a heroman dub/release in the states in anime form.

...I made myself sad.

I did notice that, but I thought it was even more noticable that the main character's suit is almost completely identical to Loran's suit from Turn A Gundam...

Maybe the translation of the name does not come out right for Japanese. Perhaps the writers/creaters throught the Captain Earth would make to use "Captain Earth" since its foregin word and it sounds coool. It may make sense in their culture as they may not have been exposed to Western culture that was tortured by Captain Planet show.

Hopefully its not too corny the name suggest, art looks good. Then again it was done by people who did StarDriver.
