Riddle Story of Devil Genres: action Themes: school, yuri find similar anime based on genres & themes Objectionable content: Significant Plot Summary: Haru Ichinose is a student at a private girls' boarding school, Myōjō Academy, who is being targeted by 12 assassins disguised as students and Tokaku Azuma is a transfer student and an assassin who also initially targets Haru, but develops feeling for her and decides to protect her from the other assassins. Episode 1: First episode pre-aired today and it was okay I guess. There were a few moments of fan service but otherwise, they introduced a decent amount of characters. I'm expecting the action to pick up soon but I kinda like the overall premise of this series so far. Animation was consistent but the story felt a little underwhelming for now. I'll wait further to see how this goes though. Should be interesting, maybe. |

Back around 2005 or so I was always grabbing the first raw of everything I could find (before finally admitting my JP skills weren't good enough for it).
I've noticed around here making these topics with standard formatting is important because some things actually DO get left behind, So thanks for always winning initiative, Stark. The designs look ok so I'll check it out, Though I'm worried Sakura Trick spoiled me a bit in the yuri department recently. |

Loving this. The story will probably take some time before we get to understand it. They're already giving more information than Another did
 .
The only negative thing I can come up with, is that other than the main duo, the other residents seem like stock characters. Oh yeah, especially that Dices/school president guy. It's something we'll have to just watch and see though. As long as I'm properly entertained, I don't mind. Other than that, the first episode really did a good job in setting its atmosphere. Dark but sharp tones, decent music and not one spoiler[innocent soul. Not even Haru probably ].

Episode 1
So this is that yuri show I was looking forward to, I knew to look out for the assassin yuri anime because some of us like that stuff. There is an ensemble of creepy characters here, and for some reason I think of Danganronpa, the two faced character is probably but one reason. While these usual almost all female casts tend to be a bit washy, I think what they have here might be something interesting if we have a look at each character properly. |

Azuma looks like an interesting character. Assassins x yuri is an unusual combination. I don't usually watch yuri, but this has some potential. Black class ~ a weird compilation of dangerous girls. Appearances sure can be deceiving. I might give it an episode or two. |

I was close to turning it off during the spoiler[classroom introduction] scene, just thinking "Here we go with the litany of stock characters". However, I stuck with it until the end and it has me intrigued. Similarly to WIXOSS, it is just different enough to keep me going for another episode. I have to see Haru spoiler[show her psychotic side], I'm assuming that will happen at some point.

If it weren't for ANN's spotlight spoiler[so definitely pinning her as the target, I'd wonder if she weren't another assassin and the target's, say, Aniki-sensei]. I'd definitely like to know what her spoiler[telling herself she's going to graduate this time] is about.

spoiler[Parts of this episode reminded me of Danganronpa style. It feels like they're still just mostly dropping hints. Those girls are definitely into scheming. It's more and more starting to look like yuri x Danganronpa. Flashbacks were interesting. It's always good to get new info about Azuma. Haru looks like the only normal girl there. Hmm... but looks can be deceiving... I wonder... Things just got seriously interesting and dangerous. Really good episode.] |

Episode 2:
I was also reminded of spoiler[Dangan Ronpa]. Still, I think there's something bigger behind the scenes. As for spoiler[Haru, her background is not a happy one...] Going by a 1-cour show, I'll assume at least spoiler[one assassin will be expelled assuming if they fail to kill Haru. I wonder who will though because that would mean the game would be over. And of course, games have rules.] |
