I do have some questions though, like which dub are they using? Nelvana's hack dub? Or an uncut one?

Uncut! Very Happy

ETA: The official response NISA has given us to use:

NISA wrote:
The bonus English track features full English voices for all episodes and is not the same dub that was aired on North American TV.

The English audio is considered a "bonus" because it's in mono. It's included with the sets as an added value.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! THANK YOU NIS AMERICA!!! I am SO buying this to show my future children!

But what do they mean by monaural? Does that mean they're going to include a brand new English dub?! It better be, because it deserves it! Lots of American children would love this series if someone treated it right!

I imagine no one wants the Hacked up version on a 250 dollar BD set. I'm pretty sure NISA understands that.

I feel this is obligatory

This was my first thought. Though I have to admit that $250 is a pretty hefty price tag. However, my general rule of thumb is to break it down to cost-per-episode, which is about $3.50 (I admit I prefer it closer to $2), but that would make a 12 episode series box set about $42, which seems almost reasonable. And it's a Blu-Ray of some of the best animation to ever hit television. Decisions, decisions!

I have no problem owning three different copies of the TV series (none of which are Cardcaptors)...

I can't believe this! I never expected NIS America would pick up an old title, let alone this one! My second favorite magical girl anime, and the second anime I ever watched, to boot! How awesome!

I won't complain about prices, because I forked out money for Aniplex when it came to Madoka multiple times. This is worth skipping daily meals for me. And is it safe to assume this is a brand new dub? If it spans seventy episodes, it seems a safe assumption. If so, wouldn't this be NIS America's first instance of dubbing a property? Which studio would they farm out to for VAs anyways? For some reason my gut says Bang Zoom...

Okay, NIS America, since you're apparently granting wishes, can I ask for some pretty Chihayafuru releases? Perhaps another dollop of CLAMP in the form of Mouryou no Hako? Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter for properties whose unlicensed status confuses the hell out of me (well, maybe not Sailor Moon, but the point stands).

Excuse me, I have to go fangirl in the corner now.

They're starting to dub stuff now. They recently started dubbing Toradora after it proved to be popular. They did subs first because they wanted to test the waters and see how their titles would sell, kind of like Sentai Filmworks.

$250 for the whole series on Blu-Ray is a pretty fair price for an anime that's mostly going to only appeal to the nostalgia demographic. I'm mostly surprised NISA got it. I could have sworn Discotek would have got the victory on this one.

Awesome news though Smile

Now this is a surprise! I managed to snag Geneon's book sets a few years ago and was hoping to fund my retirement with them, but I'm glad new fans will have a chance to see the series.

You're also getting a very nice hardcover art book.
