AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! VICTOLY!!!!!

I saw the headline at the top of the page about the new anime, and I said "Baw, I guess there's no news about the old---" then I saw the one right below it and nearly fell out of my chair. I'm shocked that it was Viz who finally came through, but good for them and good for us. Finally it's going to get the release it deserved a long time ago. :'D

EDIT: I am not a fanatic when it comes to SM, but given its status as a classic property that got treated pretty terribly over here, I've always felt like I needed to support it. That's why I own the manga, and will probably stream or buy the DVDs. It is a far more interesting story when you have the original mangaka and anime producers\writers etc. speaking for themselves and not being censored...very glad Viz chose to emphasize that this release won't be cut or censored or purposefully mistranslated in any way.

As long as this doesn't get cancelled halfway like Full Moon wo Sagashite...

And please get Susan Roman back as Jupiter. I generally don't care for the old dub, but she was an awesome Sailor Jupiter.

Wow, this is pretty amazing news for SM fans.

Being a casual fan, I might give it a go, at least a little bit of it. The new English dub intrigues me.

Viz is going to make a tidy profit on this.

I'm not sure exactly how I feel about new Voice Actors, but this is pretty [expletive] awesome.

I totally didn't expect this to come from Viz, since everyone practically gave the series to Funimation like 5 years ago.

Viz will probably be rolling in some $$$, and that's fine. I'll probably be buying multiple copies, as I don't doubt that their LEs will be gorgeous.

Haven't watched this since the 90s, and back then I watched it in the Swedish dub. It'll be interesting to watch the entire series in the original Japanese & probably check out the new English dub.

Thank you Viz. Thank you.

spoiler[Oh, and where ze heck is Gargantia? They must be doing something amazing with that release given the time it's taking~]

That's because Full Moon didn't sell as well. That won't be the case for freakin' Sailor Moon.

Nice, the old dub and names like Serena and Lita go into the shredder, forever, nostalgia be damned.

If only they could produce an HD transfer, the article says BD but that doesn't guarantee it won't just be an upscale.

I want that old English theme song, in all its glory, remastered and available for streaming. Heck, release a soundtrack!

*Fighting evil by moonlight,
Winning love by daylight,
Never running from a real fight,
She is the one, she's Sailor Moon~

She will never turn her back on a friend,
She is always there to defend,
She is one on whom you can depend,
She is the one, Sailor Moon!

(Please correct my lyrics if I got something wrong. That's all from memory Wink )

Agent355: Your memory's correct! Wink

I discovered the series on Toonami in 1998...I've waited 16 years for this moment! Razz

I know Hulu Plus you have to pay for, but is the other digital service free?

I'm intrigued about the Blu ray/DVD combo, since Japan just has remastered DVDs...

I was having bit of a bad day... one of my best friends is really depressed as he was recently rejected by a girl. He was talking about all day that he was never going to find someone... I told him if he was still going to complain we couldn't be friends any more. As we have done a ton together (Disneyland, Tokyo... Tokyo Disneyland) we didn't want to lose each other.

As we were on the phone patching things up, I clicked on anime news network and I saw this news!

As we're both huge fans this cheered both of us right up! Thank you Viz!

Also: years ago I accidentally bought some DVDs that were bootlegs of the uncut sub... When both the first season and R come out, I'm so going to film me destroying the bootlegs and put them on Youtube!

While I couldn't care less about any dub that they make, I am glad that I will be able to watch the uncut, subtitled version at some point.
