The plot has very little to do with the movie, which was basically a fanfic with some loose inspiration from the game. All of the character relationships will be different and there will be a bunch of characters who never appeared properly in The Last Party, so there should be a lot of new content.

Which is why I think they said in an earlier post it will be a more detailed version of the movie. Will not the journey of this season lead to the same place the movie did? Which is the battle of Sekigahara. If I am understanding the article correctly the final show down of this adventure is the battle of Sekigahara. The way I see it this is the same plot just told differently.
