spoiler[Naru was acting even weirder than usual. She took the growing up a bit too serious. The life in the village sure is relaxing, but in really short intervals. Seishu seems to be doing a lot better now. The megane manga girl was totally crazy. Like she has a double personality or something. Damn, he got sucked into something weird again ^^" Seishu gets down so easily .. Life on that island is never boring.] |

Episode 3:
It was so funny watching spoiler[Tama misunderstanding manga] LOL. What an amusing episode. Almost every moment of the episode was interesting even from the first few seconds at the beginning. Damn, now that I think about it, I want to go there as well |

Love Naru's simple logic. If you're not having fun then let's go play!

Episode 3
Tama is worth some laughs too. Indeed Tama seems to be spoiler[a Fujoshi, but she seems to think she is not one, or trying to stop herself from being one], she should wear the title with honour. I have never felt as sorry for the manga industry until I realised that the publishers would have to spoiler[read messed up stories like "Snuff Note"], at least she is colourful. I could not help but have a huge grin as Tama went from spoiler[freaking out and acting like she had been soiled to giving into curiosity]. So for the beginning, Naru was thinking spoiler[she was an adult because she could read well, she was trying to study to show off to him and the girls gave her that to embarrass herself]? |

Well, that was certainly not the kind of manga I expected Tama to draw...although speaking of Tama, I must say her reaction when she spoiler[encountered BL manga for the first time] was basically an extremely exaggerated version of my own. spoiler[Like "Oh it's two guys, doing things like that, that's not the same as what I've read before, dunno if I should keep reading, oh hey, I actually really like this.] I think I might have even been around the same age as her. I'd never hurl a manga against the wall, though...
Sensei's being a bit hard on himself, but I can understand the feeling. Naru was adorable as usual, the bit with her at the beginning was priceless. |

So we had another Tama burn in this episode. The one in the hospital occurred when Handa was asking for his supplies. So maybe it was some sort of professional jealousy? Or she was angry because he wouldn't let her sensei work?
Also, it wasn't quite clear to me whether spoiler[Snuff Note] was intended as merely a spoiler[Death Note] reference (to establish the genre she was aiming for), or an implication that she was amateurishly plagiarizing the concept, like a wanabe writer penning a book called Sundown about sparkly vampires. @ DP: I think the girls honestly wanted to see if spoiler[she could recognize the difference between the katakana and the kanji, and when she couldn't, they either thought it was funny to agree with her or didn't want to disappoint her with the truth. Or both.] |

Specifically the one in the hospital happened when Handa and Hiroshi were arguing like a married couple. She's mad at God for testing her. |

Funimation has started streaming Barakamon! They've put up episodes 1-3 on their site for Elite subscribers, and they'll be available to non-subscribers next Tuesday.

If there is one problem i have with Barakamon it is that it is getting somewhat repetitive. Usually starts with our protagonist having a problem and gets cheered up by the nice folks around him.
It’s consistently heart warming and humorous but i feel the formula does get a bit stale after a while. Gekkan on the other hand manages to keep the things fresh with it’s original spin on character tropes and unpredictable humor. While i do very much like the show I agree with Blood in saying that's really the only thing I can say about it. |
