It's a shame that Narue never got the respect it deserved in English as it was a pretty good manga and anime when it came out via US Manga corps back in the day.

I honestly felt the anime was pretty subpar but I did read a bit of the manga and really really enjoyed it. Good characters

A couple more of Ogawa Issui's stories are available in the Speculative Japan anthology series from Kurodahan Press.

Hold on. Gargantia was nominated for an award?

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

But now it's award-winning, and only 9-volumes (an even omnibus count) back. Seems like a good time for a rescue. Being OOP for this long should help keep back-stock from being an issue too.

I *love* Ken Liu's work, and recommend everyone find some and read it. The Paper Menagerie is a deceptively simple story that some turn their noses up at because it's so rooted in emotions, but it's a punch to the gut skillfully delivered by a man who understands what it is to stand between two cultures and choose one over the other. The Paper Menagerie is online btw (legally), free to read.
