Hooray for more white people playing Asian characters, because Hollywood execs are too flippin' lazy to drive down to Little Tokyo, Chinatown, and/or Koreatown.

Funny, that's exactly why an apple has seeds to plant, Johnny.

I hope this won't mean the movie studio will start grabbing all the copyrights for this and start trying control franchise on this side of the Pacific. I don't have alot of faith in big studios as is with movie adaptions.

Dreamworks has potential doing a Ghost in the Shell right. There been so many variations of the original manga it should be story wise big shock to whatever "Americanizing" they'd do it cause too much trouble. Right? Confused Then again I'm more concern if the writing will be right or writers directors will understand what heck their making in the first place. The core story in manga is definition of what is human and what has a human soul. Transition from flesh to machine etc.

Least we have technology movie wise/cgi to be able to do it.

Just as bad news as Blade Runner 2. And yes they will make her a PG 13 lesbian. The quality of the original manga´s and the rest of the series are so far apart in my book.

Edge of Tomorrow was a (great) fluke that had almost nothing to do with the source material. GitS though has been in develompment for 15+ years and it will look like a ripoff by 2015/16 standards. Sin City 2 anyone ? The state of the script has to be "something" allright. Arise and the tie-in manga YES but mid-budget GitS by slock master NO. I am marking my bet now. This project will fall apart like they all did. You all just wait. Wolf of Wall Street on the other hand is just perfect.

When it gets released, then the true opinions should matter.

It's Scorsese, Leo, and full of nudity and depravity, of course it was perfect. This GitS has nothing to do with that beyond sharing an actress. And yeah, I've never read AYNIK, but EoT was well executed and succeeded with Tom Cruise leading the charge. But I can imagine it would have fallen to pieces if you placed a sack of potatoes like the drooling ape from Godzilla in the main character slot, so I'll say it all hinged on what Cruise brought to the table, like with with Oblivion and Jack Reacher. They might have been okay films with other lead actor choices, but I probably enjoyed them for his performances. All hail Cruise, he's beautiful man, beautiful!
