Even with the anime boost and all the advertisement, it still can't beat bleach's lowest volume

It's perfectly fine to compare the two of them, seeing as they're both WSJ manga. Though you have to remember that the genre of both manga's appeal to different demographic audiences, which Bleach, being a typical Shounen fighting manga over a action- cooking manga like Shokugeki has the advantage. Also don't forget that Bleach volumes have been released since 2002 whereas Shokugeki no Soma volumes have been out for just under 3 years. Bleach has undoubtedly gained a huge following since it started, so it's only natural that it'd be ahead. |
