This show is great. I know it might be a stretch, but I am getting a Cowboy Bepop-esque type feeling from this show. I'm not sure how else to explain it. Perhaps it's just because of the great score thus far. I think if it continues down the way I feel and hope it is, this will be a great show for this year and hopefully longer.

#1

Weirdness all around..
Leo's day sure was an interesting one.
Getting into Libra was just a happy side effect?
Flashback to explain how it all started was very interesting.
We have the bad guys & the good guys so let the games begin!
Some of those guys have pretty cool powers!
Not bad, will give this a try.

#2

Leo got a monkey out of the bad situation last time.
Lucky, I guess ^^
That Zapp was a total nuisance to Leo at first.
Getting into trouble so fast... that's our Leo.
He really knows how to go in deep..
If it weren't for Zapp... things would've ended up badly.
Leo managed to pick another weird friend LOL
Fun episode.

Good presentation for Leo, with him attempting to be independent and Zapp, who showed off his power even while lying down. Like a bawse.

And yet another Gintama cast member joins BBB. xD At this stage, I already want to see a crossover.

Episode 2

This style is really winning me over. I will echo a thought about similarities to Cowboy Bebop with soundtrack and quite a bit of fun. Is the word jazz? I did not really care for the OP, but in my opinion the ED feels super fun to watch. I think that this fun is why it is why it is so enjoyable.

On the plot of the episode, the boss thought that spoiler[Zapp turned down the bodyguard duty], but he clearly is spoiler[not the guy to actually say he was doing it]. He was still spoiler[an asshole though, unnecessarily harassing him].

And now we have a spoiler[ghost, White, voiced by my favourite voice actress].

I was just sad about all the poor folks who weren't getting their pizza.

That left me scratching my head too, lol. Guess someone would have read it to her?

There's nothing to say the anime plot isn't going to make a full loop; When the narration started in this episode, it seemed a lot like the narrator (Leo) was telling the story from beginning to end; We were seeing what was written in the letter. When we saw the narrator's sister with the letter in hand, I thought we got a glimpse of the ending (if that makes any sense).

Maybe Leo went to NYC to find not just one miracle but two this time after what happened with that giant/specter/whatever.

That Mach Monkey is still my favorite Very Happy!

Maybe the best series of this season so far.

I was not insulted by sloppy/lazy writing here, there was no such thing; authors seem to respect viewers enough in terms of concept and story -- at least not yet. High quality work for now.

_______________________________________________________________________

Of course, we have seen a lot of stories of:

1) cities that all of sudden became gateways to alternative realities,
2) secret organizations that maintain the balance between humanity and supernatural,
3) see-through past/future eyes,
4) blood weapons, and so on.

So "Blood Blockade Battlefront originality" would be nearly an oxymoron phrase. However, rendition is the key, and for now, it is not annoying.

Like many people on ANN,I also waited and hoped for "Blood Blockade Battlefront's" anime version. To be honest,I thought it would never come. I've praised it as one of the best manga I've ever read. A really strange, creative view of New York City as becoming a gateway to utter weirdness. It could be called "Demon City Shinjuku" crossed with "Ghostbusters." If I had one problem with it,I thought that the swearing was unnecessary but that was a minor quibble.
If Funimation ever does an English language dub of this show,I hope it will be as great as the manga me and so many others enjoyed.

I liked the second eppie more than the first. And the production values give my eyeballs a lap dance virtually every second of screen time. I'm a sucker for well rendered cityscapes ... especially a cityscape like "Hellursalem's Lot."

Episode 3:

Loved it! Wow, this episode just a lot of great OST, moments, and style. The spoiler[Prosfair game is protrayed quite well in terms of uniqueness although its game play mechanics lacks a bit in terms of explanation.]

spoiler[Klaus did well imo as he is able to endure the game.]

Also interesting to see spoiler[K.K] show up as well this episode. I hope she gets more screen time later on in the season as I like her personality quite a bit already.

New and weird spoiler[drug case].
That Alterworld sure is weird and kinda dark..
Getting answers always comes with a price.
Being reckless about it was a huge gamble.
spoiler[Prosfair is such a complex & dangerous game when played with certain individuals.
Klaus]
was truly impressive..

Pretty good episode, but the chess game could have been cut down to 1/2, 1/4 of it's length and it would have been much better. Wonder if they'll do something where the MC use his eye to win the game in a later episode.

Don't remember them mentioning it, but it seems the show is set in he 80', if so the monster just has to wait another 30 year and humanity will have computer that can beat him, would that be paradise or hell for him?

Why was spoiler[K.K. even there? Was she just there to drag his exhausted ass home after the game?] I mean, I like the character and all, and don't mind, but why did it need to be her?
