Are the obscene things "uncensored porn"?

How can "uncensored porn" be obscene?

Since the LDP returned to power in '12, Japan's cops have gotten bigger chips on their shoulders!

The truth of the matter is when you decide to jump into that type of industry of file sharing, you being the founder of said company or website can have this type of baggage attached to it. People can cry freedom of speech and whatever else, but that's what you get out of it all.

If that's not the case, then you might as well call all extreme fan service series "obscene".

Yes. The article really should state that as that is the only thing it means.

The problem with FC2 I imagine came from having an adult video section coupled with a foreign market and site operations in the US.

Quote:
According to The Kyoto Shimbun, the FC2 video-sharing website is the fourth most accessed video-sharing website in Japan as of March. The company is incorporated in the United States, and it has previously asserted that its headquarters and servers are also located in the United States, which has made it difficult in the past for Japanese companies and authorities to take legal action against the site.

The founders should have moved too.

The keyword seems to be "live streaming" meaning that it wasn't an after the fact video upload (ie content that would technically be in the US jurisdiction) and thus Japan has authority in the circumstance and doesn't have to hassle with international law.

Wouldn't live streaming be protected under US law as well? You'd think since the servers are in California, US law would apply to live streams as well.

Still the president should've moved to the US and maybe the Co-Founder as well just in case. With Japanese authorities, you never know what tyranny behind the scenes is going on especially since it's very close to 2020.

Yup! Been to that site. Stuff can get pretty "obscene" there. It's basically a porn tube.

In America, I can legally watch uncensored hentai anime DVDs at home or at a midnight screening at an anime convention.
But if I so happen to bring my legally purchased DVDs with me on vacation in Japan, I'll get busted & be charged with possession of "obscene material" over there.

which in turn is the reason why most of these hentai companies dont allow their products to be released in the US. cause of their countries dumbass laws on censorships.

and this here is beyond proof that the govt is out of control. makes me really glad i changed my mind on moving over there years ago, otherwise i probably would have been joining a lot of other otakus in jail.

Considering that Japan has always had a longer history of "obscene" things in its culture, I find it surprising that they have tighter censorship laws. I remember a while back when they made it so that taking pictures during the dick festival was not allowed. Come on, lessen up a bit, Japan.
