Somehow, this doesn't surprise me at all. And with a rewritten script, I'm curious to see how they will carry the plot into this 5th film.

this is mixed news, without looking it means the Akito Ova's are doing well, but at the same time it means other projects that might be of the animated mech variety are no long "safe bets" for the studio.

hmn not sure how to take this news actually. does this mean we'll see more julius kingsley aka spoiler[(geassed)lelouch]
if so thats good but as the 'enemy' he might not be as entertaining to watch unless the writer is well, good at writing because most of the spin offs fall short when compared to the original IMO. |

I won't explain anything in detail, because of spoilers, but you probably shouldn't expect "Julius Kingsley" to stay around for too long after the events of the third episode that has just premiered. |

Wait, so the script for Episode #4 is/was being rewritten to segue into Episode #5 and thus needs recutting, redubbing, reanimating, whatnot, but the release date isn't delayed?

*sigh* Sunrise is enjoying dragging this out aren't they? After a hefty wait for Episode 3, they now decide to tag a 5th onto it. Maybe it will be for the better, especially if they felt four will end with too many plot holes so perhaps the fifth is the tying of loose ends. I want to see if they bridge the end of Akito and the beginning of R2 because that would make for some awesome marathoning if Akito was sandwiched into the R1,R2 playthrough.

According to the Japanese article, the dubbing for chapter four is apparently already finished. They did have to go back and re-dub parts of the conversations for consistency with the existence of a fifth episode, but the entire process didn't begin just now. For that matter, they mention chapter four is heavy on the robot action while the third is the one with more emphasis on the characters themselves. |

This can be good or bad depending on how they spaced out the fourth and fifth episodes. If they can keep animation consistent then I'm happy.
